This place was sooooo good. Was not planned to come here but we saw it and said eh why not? Best choice!! You won’t regret coming here, everything taste homemade as well , it was perfect & service was great! The Carne Asada fries are HUGE ❤️

We loved the fajita burritos with chicken! They were a generous size and had nice grilled chicken inside with peppers, onions, rice, refried beans, etc and were nicely grilled on the outside. We enjoyed eating at one of their tables and trying the salsas and peppers at the salsa bar.

Tried an assortment of tacos today. Most excellent! Fresh, tasty, put together with care. Their guacamole is the best I’ve had! Super friendly folks with efficient service. Great selection of sauces and authentic desserts too!

Right off the main drag in old lyme, Kate and Papis is known for tostadas, flautas, and sopes, This mex-style restaurant is about the size of an average dining room, so if you eat inside you’ll feel like a guest of the family that runs the place. Which makes sense, because this is homestyle cooking at its absolute finest: Our favorite item is the incredible sopes, which involves a special masa heaped with marinated meats, salsa, and queso fresco. Try the Carne Asada Fries that are Loaded fries with steak, melted cheese, pico de gallo, creme and guacamole, though the tacos dorados with picadillo and are commendable runners-up.

Just tried the Torta sandwich (carnitas) and the crispy artichoke hearts with avocado ranch sauce. Both so tasty! Staff is nice & helpful. So excited to have another food place in Old Lyme.

This place is amazing! The best Mexican food in the area. Since moving to East Lyme, I haven’t had great tasting Mexican food and I tried all the local places. I’m so glad Papi’s open, they are the best.

I wasn’t impressed by this place. I ordered the Mahi Mahi taco, the AL pastor taco, the loaded fries, and the nachos. There really wasn’t any authentic Mexican flavor going on. No spice or tang. The nacho chips aren’t home made, they’re out of a bag. They didn’t come with any toppings at all, just meat and cheese. Same for the fries. No vegetables or cilantro. Just an all around very Anglo “Mexican ” experience. Very pricey, too, for just chips and potatoes. Idk if I’ll go back.

Ok everyone, not going to lie, super picky about Mexican food. This is the real deal. Support a family owned business! Cute, clean, amazing food, authentic and lots of menu choices plus kids menu and 10$ Taco Tuesday deals. We loved the burritos and carne asada fries. Coming back here for sure!
