I had the BLT, tasted great just wish it had more B! The corned beef hash and egg was really good and could easily feed two people. Service was excellent, and she was friendly and helpful. Will be returning to try more things!

Tried this place for lunch today and it was great! My husband got chicken and waffles and I got fried catfish. We both had coffee and fit every expectation for diner coffee in the best way. So glad that downtown Ruston now has a diner option that all great downtowns should have.

Ordered a loaded fries that had bacon and shredded cheese on them not all the way melted, topped with non-pickled jalapeños that just threw off the flavor. It didn’t come with ranch so I had to request ranch that came in a little cup that was literally 1/4 way filled. I wasn’t too mad about it until I realized we were charged $1 for 2TBSPs of ranch. The fries were very greasy and soggy and all I could taste was oil. My husband’s order was $15.95 for a couple of waffles, two chicken tenders and a small cup of syrup. I was excited for a new breakfast place, but I don’t think I want to risk it again. Waitress was nice though.

Beautiful diner! Delicious food! Best chicken and waffles I’ve had in a while. My son loved the catfish. Was told there maybe a wait due to staff training. They are doing a great job! Love something new

Charming 1950’s-style restaurant. Big portions. We recommend breakfast for lunch. The atmosphere is quiet for business conversation. Request Avery as your server, and order a Philly Cheese Steak Omelet. Budget extra time for bumping into friends and family.

Man, where do I start? Well first of all the pancakes were BUSSIN’ 10/10 hands down. Bacon was just the way I like it, a little on the chewy side, though I’m sure they can make it crispy if that’s what you’re into. The grits were just what I expect from grits. A blank slate. You want sweet grits, add jam or sugar, bam. Savory? Bust an egg yolk in that bad boy. The corned beef hash was so damn good. It was salty enough to fully season the hashbrowns and veg that it was cooked with but not so salty that I needed a bucket of water to wash it down. Got a little taste of the strawberry milkshake and I would say it would be worth the trip just for that. The coffee was smooth enough that I could drink it black. All of this food and a to-go order of French toast for my wife ran me about 40 bucks. I had enough food for 3 people so that’s not bad at all especially considering everything was made to order. On top of all of that the owner and staff are super chill. I want to stress that you should expect to wait a bit for your food with everything being made to order, no frozen mess. This is the kind of place you want to go if you have the time to sit and soak it in. Some really cool images of Ruston’s past can be found hanging on the walls. A huge improvement over the previous establishment. I will absolutely be back to try the chicken and waffles.

Showed up on Sunday, 1100, left at 1150 when waitress said it would still take another 30+ mins for food to come. Needless to say, we paid for our coffee and tipped the waitress. She was very considerate and apologized for the sorrowful performance. We did recognize when we walked into nearly a full house and nobody had food at their table that something was not right. Hopefully this place refines their food preparation if they want to stay in business. It’s a prime location, too bad they were totally unprepared to serve food.
