Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Although I did have to wait about 20 min for my pizza to be ready, I really enjoyed the pizza. I did not have much experience with Chicago style pizza but this pizza was better prepared than the one I had at Giordano’s a couple nights ago. Saucy and tasty, cheese melted correctly and crust was cooked good. Price is a little bit more than what I am used to paying for pizza but it’s worth it. They did not have an area where I could sit and eat it, but I went to sit on the benches outside to enjoy it white it was hot.

Mobile app is a waste of time and does not work. Had to call and wait on hold for 10 minutes to get my order placed and had to give them all my information action (they got a new system). I expect my reward points will not get updated. This has been a problem for weeks and nothing is changing.

I’ve always considered pizza a favorite food. Be ready for the heavy cheese to take your taste buds for a ride. Absolutely amazing pizza that stopped me in my tracks. There isn’t indoor dining but the restaurant nextdoor )Don Juan’s Cantina) let me sit at the bar and eat my pizza while enjoying an absolutely refreshing strawberry mojito. Highly recommend this pizza place and the adjacent restaurant.

Every time we go to this location, there is an issue. They have teenagers running this location, and you can tell. They do not know the definition of customer service. I guess this is what happens when you are desperate to hire just anyone. The other locations that we have gone to are run well.

I love Lous pizza but I am getting tired of them not getting it right. I ordered delivery a week ago and we got wings instead of salad. Today I did carryout order and our 1/2 pepperoni and the whole pizza of pepperoni. I order a few times a month, and it’s about 50/50 on accuracy. Some times toppings are missing, doesn’t matter how good the pizza is if you can’t get the order right. May have to find an alternative .

Fine representation of Lou’s! Ordered a pizza on our way to O’Hare…it was hot and waiting for us. It’s about 10 minutes from the airport…a terrific place to get your Chicago Pizza fix!
