This place is a little ways away from Kona town but very close to Costco. We went mid-week and found no lines. We were able to walk right up and order and take our poke around the corner to eat outside on some picnic tables. Super friendly and fast service. The poke was good but the sides were a little lacking for my taste. I would have liked to have had a mac salad or something a little different the offerings. Worth a visit if nearby.

Small storefront with parking available in front of the shop. Some benches outside for a quick meal.

Amazing Poke and choices! Flavors were so good and the fish was excellent. We will definitely be going back. Didn’t get a photo of our plate as we ate it so fast without thinking. Butter mochi was the best we ever had and they sell very good Kulolo too!

One of the best poke spots on the Big Island. We came here after spending the day at Hapuna Beach, around 1/2:00 pm. It wasn’t too busy but started forming a line when we left. My partner and I each ordered a #1 which comes with 1 scoop poke, 1 scoop rice, and 2 sides. I ordered spicy ahi with ocean salad and krab salad. My partner ordered the shoyu ahi with kimchee krab salad and ocean salad. The poke was so tender and melted in your mouth. It had a lot of flavor and mixed in with the ocean salad or krab salad was a perfect combination. There isn’t seating inside and only a few picnic tables on the side of the building, but you could easily take this down to a nearby beach and enjoy turtle watching or just eat it in your car. There are so many poke places to try, but I highly recommend this place!

I recently visited Kona for a wedding and stopped by Pau Hana Poke shop located just a 10-minute drive away from the Airport once I flew in. The street parking made it easy for me to stop by and enjoy a delicious meal.

Wonderful spicy ahi & shoyu ahi poke. The ocean salad was also delish.

It’s really delicious. The fish is very fresh. I choose #2, it‘s worth it, and the price is good. It’s just that the location is not in a very lively area. It‘s the first time to find the wrong place. I went to eat for the second time before I got on the plane. Recommended

Excellent poke. Location is not the best but a good place to stop if you are coming back from the northern beaches in the early afternoon. A bit of a wait with a handful of locals in line, which I took as a good sign. The line moves fast and this place was a well oiled machine. Asked the local online what he recommended, the Hawaiian style and shoyu he said. I went with the Hawaiian style ahi, wasabi ahi, ocean salad and imitation crab salad. The fish was excellent and the imitation crab salad quite flavorful surprisingly. About 20 bucks for the plate. Very good and plan to return.

Being from Michigan it is hard to get good poke locally and we are always excited to try any new place when we travel. Pau Hana did not disappoint other than stopping later in the day when they were more picked over and we missed out on the pudding. We will be back for more though because the flavors were outstanding and prices more than fair for the portions. A great experience after a long day on the water at the beach.
