5 stars for yummy Italian food, exceptional service and romantic and lovely atmosphere. The food here is so delicious. I was part of a private dining experience downstairs and it was unforgettable. The cocktails are superb and our group enjoyed a 5 star experience. Favorites: ricotta appetizer, steak, lobster rigatoni, apple crisp and brownie! Highly recommend, make reservations. Enjoy!

Don’t understand the hype. Yes the setting looks exciting, open fire, full pig etc., but the food turned out just so so. The lighting in the restaurant is seriously too dark, the servers are nice but sometimes not efficient enough to check on your empty glasses & plates. Our steak tasted burned but I’m not sure if it’s an “acquired taste”, overall the grilled onions were my favorite of the night.

Opting for this location for a date night with my girlfriend based on its reputation as a romantic venue didn’t quite meet our expectations in terms of the romantic ambiance. The tables were placed too closely together, resulting in a slightly cramped environment, and the noise level was a bit distracting. The overall vibe seemed more suitable for an evening spent with friends rather than a romantic outing. On the culinary side, the food was a highlight, particularly the flavorful calamari we started with. Our entrees, the Rosette and a seasonal eggplant pasta, were both delicious and full of flavor. We had the MORTE DE CIOCCOLATO for dessert, accompanied by a serving of strawberry gelato. The experience was satisfactory but not remarkable. In general, it’s a great spot for enjoying dinner and drinks with friends or for a laid-back casual date.

For our date night we went to Peasant. Thursday night, the place was packed. Service was ok, the decor and the ambiance was nice, the Food was not so much.

Great atmosphere at Peasant. The Octopus was chewy and overcooked but the rest of the food was great. Food destination in the East Village.

Eh. Came for dinner and experience was average. Beautiful space inside but it was incredibly hot until they turned the AC on about an hour in.

Absolute disappointment. My glass of wine hit the table after my date’s cocktail and the appetizer. Took over an hour to get a carbonara and side of asparagus. Server was completely absent throughout the meal. If you want to be treated like a peasant, then this is definitely the place.

From the food, to the service, and the low-light vibe, top notch came here a couple days ago on a Saturday night for our first year anniversary and we had a lovely time, we were greeted with a nice hand written note and a glass of Prosecco. Highly recommend the octopus, lobster pasta and steak We’re both eager to go back!

At Peasant, the ambiance is what truly stands out. The venue exudes a cozy, old Italian charm that transports you to a different era. As for the food, I opted for the Rigatoni Alla Vodka which, while tasty, left a bit to be desired in terms of portion size. The service was on point, attentive without being overbearing. Overall, Peasant offers a pleasant dining experience, with the venue’s ambiance being its standout feature.

I had an excellent wood fired veal Marsala and polenta. It was really great. I ended up pouring the rest of the Marsala on the polenta so I didn’t miss a drop.
