If this review was solely based off our cocktails and appetizers, it would get 5 stars. Fried green tomatoes and smoked fried cheese were delightful. Loved the Honey Bee cocktail. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Beautiful atmosphere & sweet server, food is good but the kitchen & bar haves issues getting our food to the table. We arrive to downtown Cary & had to look for parking, surprised that the Mayton Inn has no parking lot for the restaurant. Parked in community parking arrived a few minutes late for our 6:30 reservation to thriving busy restaurant. Seated on the our outdoor veranda & was attended to by Gracie, who was lovely. Ordered drinks & small plates and that’s when we started to have issues. Drinks took over 20 minutes to get to table & the cheese plate & shrimp took over an hour. Gracie came back and asked if we needed anything, but the kitchen was the issue. We realized we needed to order our mains, which we liked to do after we had our appetizers to gauge how hungry you are but felt the urgency because of the wait. The shrimp was good, like a shrimp boil tasty but needed more cocktail sauce and the cheese plate was full of fresh fruit, jam, healthy serving of cheese and honeycomb. The fish tacos were tasty and burger was also good but we actually took home most of them. My husband got the brûlée, because he can’t ever resist, which was enjoyable. Loved the outside but needs some soft music to drown out others, also a little buggy @ sundown but they provided us with fly scatter fans which helped but a great covered area which we will come back in the fall since they have heaters installed. All in all, if the kitchen could get food out faster, it would have gotten a better rating since all the food that we ate was good.

Very nice! The atmosphere and people were lovely. The food was delicious. Ordered the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. The truffle butter combination was different but tasty. Gave it 4 stars as there were no field peas on my plate that I could identify. Friends ordered the fried shrimp and grits. I tasted and then placed a to-go order because YES!! It was spicy but my goodness, it is GOOD! Dessert was the lemon tart with raspberry sherbert and choc cookie. They could have kept the chocolate cookie. It was just giving me bland and diet restrictions taste, no flavor. (Edited: added brunch pics)

So first off, this place is hands down a ringer for a date night. The atmosphere and entire vibe is something that makes you feel like you’re in Manhattan tucked away in a chic restaurant off Wall Street. They have a dining area, bar area with tables, and a social area complete with multiple couches, tables, books, and areas for gathering.

Located in The Mayton Inn, downtown Cary, NC. We were looking for a place that offered Sunday brunch with a variety of menu items since some in our group wanted more “lunch-like” choices. I searched and came across Peck and Plume. On line was posted a lunch menu which had some good options as well as a brunch menu so I called and asked and was told BOTH the brunch AND lunch menus were available during brunch. SOLD! The restaurant (and inn) has been redone since it first opened and in my opinion reflects a more styled, refined decor and atmosphere which was very appealing. We arrived and were quickly seated right next to the servers station and kitchen entrance despite having made a reservation. Our server quickly came and provided the menu….a brunch menu. When I inquired about lunch items from the lunch menu his response was that they only serve from the brunch menu at brunch. Very discouraged especially since we came with the understanding that the lunch menu was also available. None the less, all in our party found something to eat, although disappointing. The food arrived very quickly. Almost too quickly, not allowing us to enjoy the brunch, the restaurant, or each other. The food presentation was good and everyone like what they ordered. I will go back and hope not to be seated near the kitchen doors and to actually order from the lunch menu.

Geek Girl Brunch had a great dinner at peck and plume! I wasn’t a huge fan of the scallops, but the fish tacos and our other food was delicious! Our waitress worked really hard to accommodate our large party and their system was having issues so she ended up putting in all our orders by hand as a work around.

Attended a bridal brunch here last summer and it was lovely. All of the food was delicious and the mimosas were our favorite The service was also great and we appreciated not feeling rushed as we were celebrating a special occasion. Definitely hoping to go back for dinner soon.
