I made a stop at Mayela’s Restaurant for the first time before a long hike in the nearby forest and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a stuffed sopapilla with ground beef and red chile, it came with a sopapilla on the side with honey. Both were very tasty and worth ordering again on my next visit. The service was very good as well. Cheers to Mayela!

Great basic New Mexican fare. Really liked the Chicharrón burrito. Both crisp and chewy. Green source was not too hot, but tasty. Source for chips was satisfyingly hot.

We found this little cafe 6 miles off the freeway because Google maps pointed us in the right direction. Food was outstanding along with fantastic service. We could not have been more pleased. If you have a few extra minutes, jump off the freeway and eat here. You will be glad you did.

A must stop in Pecos, NM! We’ve had both breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed. Delicious generously-portioned home-cooked meals, friendly local owners and staff, and great price point catapulted Pecos Canyon Cafe into our regular rotation.
