A delightful Italian restaurant (trattoria) in a strip mall, of all places. Friendly, attentive service, a broad menu, and scrumptious food. We had the prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted peppers appetizer, which was one of the best appetizers I can recall having. For dinner, my wife had the Godfather Foccacia, and I had the Chicken Foccacia (sandwich). Both were fantastic. The bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar before the meal was also stellar.

Popped into Pellegrino’s and had the best conversations with Salvatore and his brother Giovanni at the bar. The Lobster Ravioli was amazing and had the perfect heat. I will be visiting this wonderful family restaurant again soon.

This place is really good. I’ve had a few pasta dishes and the Detroit style pizza and every thing so far has been really good. Prices are great too. You can get good dishes for under $20. If you are in the area I definitely recommend.

I ordered the lasagna. It lacked flavor. And substance. I ended up giving it away to my grandchildren because it was more along their taste buds. The Caesar salad was good. The atmosphere and the service was fantastic! Maybe I should have ordered pizza instead. A good family place.

Good pizza for the area but as a native New Yorker that just moved here, im still on the hunt for a spot that really hits me right. Until then Pellegrinos makes nice pizza that will satisfy my cravings. One thing id work on if I were the owners, is id do my best to teach the many young kids that work upfront to stop eating the toppings with their bare hands as well as being attentive to the customers. We were waiting to be seated for 6 minutes while they were all playing around with each other. No issue with having fun at work but take care of your guests first.

Restaurant is very clean and the staff are all very pleasant. The food was delicious! We ordered the Penne Alla Vodka and a personal pepperoni pizza. We got a canoli to go, too full to eat dessert there..I took one star away because of the canoli. This was the first one I’ve had that wasn’t sweet and it doesn’t have chocolate pieces in the cream, they just cover the two ends of the dessert with semisweet chocolate chips. Looked so beautiful! Besides that, I totally recommend and I’ll be back for another meal soon!

I’m a big cheese steak fanatic and very picky about my sandwiches. I took the chance tonight and gave their Cheese steak special a shot. I have to say I was shocked! The fries came out golden brown and salted almost perfectly. The first bite of the cheese steak sandwich my eyes went wide open in disbelief and my mouth was in heaven!! I had honestly never had a cheese steak as fantastic as theirs was. Also even though it was Valentine’s day and they were waiting out the door to get in the service was great!! I highly recommend you give Pellegrinos a shot if you’ve never ate there and ask for Jennifer if she’s there and she’ll definitely take good care of you!! They also have a Bacon cheese steak wrap that’s excellent if you don’t want the bread! Like it a little spicy? Tell them to add some buffalo sauce to it and be ready to have your taste buds in awe!! They also have amazing pizza! There’s so many good ones I can’t name 1 favorite, but the one I do recommend for the cheese and garlic lover is thier 5 cheese with garlic pizza! I tell Sal to go heavy on the garlic, I’m afraid of vampires , but even without the extra garlic it’s very good!!

When we moved to Statesville, NC from central Indiana, we wanted to find our go-to pizza place. It seems everywhere we went, the pizza styles seemed to trend toward NY style fairly exclusively. Nothing wrong with a NY slice, of course. However, we missed indulging in pizza with a Midwest flare. I finally noticed that Pellagrino’s in Troutman had Detroit-style pizza. The crust was the perfect match between crispy edges and outside with a softer inside. The sauce was delicious with a wonderful ratio to the amount of cheese. The toppings were done right. Since this was our first visit, I can’t speak for the other dishes (pasta, stromboli, calzone, etc…) I do plan to return to try other offerings. Our only (mild) disappointment was that they didn’t serve complimentary bread of some sort. (Ciabatta, for example) Perhaps they do depending on what you order. We did splurge on the canolli, which was a delightful ending to amazing pizza. The dining environment was comfortable. The service was solid and friendly.

It’s only taken us 10 years to find this place- what an amazing Italian restaurant! The staff was super friendly and attentive, the vibe was casual and very clean, and above all the food was absolutely fantastic! The red sauce is the best I’ve had in NC. We have lived close by for 10 years and have not had great like home Italian food until we came here today. We will be back often!

First time eating here. Discovered this restaurant via Google maps as we were traveling down I-95. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food after locating the restaurant in a strip mall. We each had a pretty garden salad followed by our delicious lunch entrees. We were a little disappointed with the single piece of baguette that accompanied our meals. The bread was far too hard. Additionally, we were charged more for our meals than was advertised on the menu. That being said, we will happily return and dine at this restaurant when we are in the area.
