Casual Russian dumpling spot that’s open late. No frills. They only serve two types of dumplings: beef or potato. They come topped with hot sauce and cilantro with a side of sour cream. It’s oddly satisfying. I highly recommend. You’ll be skeptical at first and then you’ll want to come back for more.

Pelmeni, a dish at the heart of Russian cuisine. This light and delicious dumpling is wrapped in a thin dough and is just spicy enough that you know you’re trying something different. Topped with rice wine vinegar, Sriracha and I believe to be Old Bay seasonings as well. Choose either the meat or potato variety, you can’t go wrong. Service was a bit slow here even tho it wasn’t busy.

It is not my cup of tea to be honest. I am Asian and looking at all the reviews I thought I am in for a treat! Only to get dissapointed by the food, I mean if you grew up eating spaghetti with butter or mac n cheese and still loved it to this days than yes, you might like it but to me it is just an overcooked gnocchi that need way more seasoning and spices to taste good. It is sooo bland the sour cream does not help I am so sorry but yeah, will never comeback.

Our experience as less than good. I wouldn’t have even rated it a star. Been here 23 years and NEVER had an experience like that. Found a hair in the sour cream, the server isn’t wearing a hair net AND HANGING OFF THE PIPES while her friends blocked people’s way. Ruined my damn appetite. A loyal customer of over 10 years. Will never go back if this chick is working.

Pel’meni is easily one of the best restaurants in Juneau! We were so pleasantly surprised when we got our food – you wouldn’t expect much based off what the place looks like, but it’s just wonderful and flavor bomb in your mouth!
