The sign on door says it’s open Mondays and shows hours but they’re locked up today and all the lights are off. I can only assume they are closed down completely. Guess we’re not coming back again.

A simple pizza place that’s locally owned. Relatively inexpensive and good pizza. It doesn’t take them long to make your order either. Big and spacious inside with central air (they don’t have a window unit by the way). Nice and cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

My whole family loves the pizza and dining experience. We sit at the same table every week and it has quickly become a memory that we hope to share for a long time with the kids. I do understand that people say the shop “nickels and dimes”…I’d rather say that I understand a mom and pop shop, with a small town population, and likely fewer pizza regulars must get back what they pay for their ingredients/overhead costs, etc. For that, my husband and I are comfortable paying extra for a quiet meal enjoying the family while supporting a local business.

The pizza is perfect! We have been going here since moving back in Jan 2020. I don’t know how they do it but you could eat a whole thing crust pizza and still be hungry. Their pizza is really good. My husband and I done I’m here sometimes or we take it to go if our son is fussy. I can’t wait for mother son dates here. Also not too much sauce it’s the perfect amount whether it’s thin or thick crust. I hate lots of sauce being shot in my mouth like a gusher. Domino’s is bad about that. But not Pepe’s they are the best in Hondo!

Please save your time and your money. We thought we’d give Pepe’s a try, since all reviews were great. We were looking for a “whole in the wall”/”family owned” business and this seemed to be the place to go. We got there and our order was wrong (ordered pan pizza and got thin crust). Although the staff was very nice, they didn’t seem to care that our order was wrong and proceeded to tell us that we must have not heard them say that it wasn’t available in the size we requested. The pizza tasted pretty bad. We got home and basically tossed it and had to eat something else. Wasn’t too big of a deal because it was pretty cheap but it was kind of a bummer to have to make a salad at home when what we really wanted was some delicious pizza.
