Great food, food was delicious, it reminded me like my mom cooking, the soup was very tasty with pieces of beef meat, my pepper steak sandwich seasoned really good, there steak plate with mash potatoes, great as well, there seasoning was really good, nice place to come with the family, there waitresses were very nice, everyone was very nice, place nice and clean. I think so far it’s the best restaurant I’ve have been for awhile, I will be back. Thanks for the delicious food. Even the hot tea was good.

Simple Snacc
This place is under new management as a Mexican restaurant. I’m from LA and visit my girlfriend here in Highland but to be honest the Mexican places around here suck. As a Mexican, I figured Highland has no good Mexican food to offer but boy was I wrong. Trust me and try the tacos at this place, they are some of the best I’ve ever had. Really flavorful meat but the staff is very rude and I got a pretty hostile vibe from them.

Wow! When you pull up it looks sketchy. But WOW! The staff were awesome! CeCe was helpful as was all the other staff. The food was DELICIOUS! We were traveling from Texas and enjoy Mexican food. HANDS DOWN some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had! The Agua Fresca was fresh. Everything was truly an experience and worth going!

1st Time here in Highlands, California this Restaurant is called Pepper Steak now this Restaurant I like, their Meatloaf Plate was Delicious, Rolls mmm good, Tea good, sides Delicious and The Prices very Reasonable. Loved it.

I’ve always love pepper steak but recently my taco lady bought it over and included a Mexican menu. She kept the existing American menu aswell. Pepper steak has great lunches and now the best Mexican food in town. Way better than Mitlas & las Casuelas on tacos The atmosphere is nice and calm during the day and a party in the middle of the night. Great food for all hours.

Rock solid food and friendly service. We literally drive by this place every day and I keep telling my wife we need to try it this place. We finally did just that and went and grabbed an early dinner. I feel like there is no need to address what you most likely know about this place if you’ve driven by. It’s an old-school place, no-frills decor and has a very home-like feel. Very clean and slightly dated this place really has a charm to it that says it’s been here for awhile and it does what it does and it does it well. The menu has a diner feel but also feels more refined and expanded than the typical greasy spoon. They offer daily soups and specials along with the classics you’d come to expect from a staple like this place. The food is super fresh, well cooked and truly stays within the lines. I tried the philly cheese steak and chili verde soup and my wife got a patty melt. All the food was really delicious. The chili verde soup was really surprising and had huge chunks of savory pork in it. The philly was super solid with fresh beef and peppers and even the fries were great. My wife’s patty melt was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful and kept the place clean and the vibe pretty relaxed. This place is obvioualy a staple in this area as it was the first place we were told to go eat at when we moved here. They do all you can eat specials on certain days and I’m sure they have a lot more to offer, but for our first visit it was great. If you want fresh, good size portions, fair prices and home made food. Check it out. If you like culinary tours throughout the world eating different cultures cusines and diving into the things we aren’t used to here; probably not the place your looking for, but you’ll still find something really good to eat here. We will return for sure.

Was a little shocked to see indoor seating during covid but happy to be able to sit inside. Not complaining. Although, during my time there, I noticed some kind of worker with a badge that took the manager to sit down and I overheard them talking about distancing so I’m assuming she was some kind of safety employee.

Very unprofessional establishment, there was an altercation that unfolded, one that should have quickly been deescalated. It is never justified for employees to disrespect or throw objects at customers. I will never recommend anyone patronize this business.
