In 1979, the Perry family opened its first restaurant: a modest meat market in Houston called Perry’s Butcher Shop and Deli. By 1986, Chris Perry persuaded his father Bob to add dining tables, paving the way for an expansion, which quickly gained popularity among loyal customers. Food was amazing. We have been 2 time and the first time our survive was great. Unfortunately the second time we couldn’t get our check fast enough to be able to leave. We waited to order new cocktails for 30 mins. By the time the sever came back we just handed her our card so we could leave. We would have easily spent a lot more on drinks alone if we would have actually been served.

What an awesome restaurant. All of the staff were warm and friendly and very attentive. Our waitress Carla, was amazing. Offering suggestions for me, the vegetarian of the table, as well as descriptions of the dishes. There was a manager that checked on us a couple times and also confirmed my vegetarian options and the soup that was not.

Food was delicious overall. We tried the lobster bisque, pork chop, and grilled salmon. I felt the pork chop was a bit too dry , it could use some juice. Salmon was just right. We made the reservation for 5 pm and left around 6 as the restaurant became too busy and loud. The bathroom was a mess. Walking into the bathroom, it reminds me of the smell of the subway stations in NYC. And there was toilet paper on the floor every stall, some of them weren’t even flushed.

I went in Sunday to sit at the bar and have an early dinner. I had myself set on ordering the dinner portion porkchop, but thanks to a wonderful bartender she informed me that on Sunday they had a 3 course meal with the porkchop for the same price. I know this might not sound like much for the bartender to do their job, but it goes a long way with me on the customer service side of a meal. And for that reason alone I would go back! However as you can see from the picks, the porkchop is as good as it looks and I would highly recommend it!!

Our first time going and we highly recommend! We shared the scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer and then everyone ordered the pork chop. WAY more food than 1 can eat. We also ordered several sides that said for “two” but more can share. I highly recommend Perry’s and can’t wait to go back!
