I recently visited Peter Luger steak house and I must say it was an exceptional experience. Firstly, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The service was remarkable and Ricky, our waiter, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations based on our preferences.

Great place with perfect steaks and excellent service. Table for 2 was available without reservation. Parking was possible in front of the restaurant. They only accept cash (no credit cards).

Come for lunch, they always have availability during those hours. This place is supposedly the better one compared to Brooklyn, they’re nicer with better service so I’ve heard. Our server was very nice. But personally, I liked everything but the steak was mid. Burger 10/10

The service and food that we received from our waiter Nick & his team were top notch. On the other hand, one of the gentleman that man’s the phone when making your reservation really needs to take a class on how not to be rude and disrespectful. His people skills, plain and simple just suck.

I am not writing this review to tell you what to do with your hard-earned money. I am going to share my thoughts and you make your own decision if you would like to try this place or not. Hands down Peter Luger is one of the best if not the best steakhouses in NYC. The steak is always cooked to perfection, and it is juicy and delicious. I love Peter Luger burgers. Also, one of the best burgers in town. The patty is so tender that it melts in your mouth. The burger is so good that it is only served with raw onions and truly does not need anything else. That is how the burger is. The French fires are made from real potatoes. However, one Peter Luger underappreciated item on the menu has to be their lobster. Not only is it price reasonable, but it is cooked perfectly on the grill. For dessert, you cannot go wrong with the apple strudel with homemade whip cream.

The bacon is honestly the best. The Rib Eye is better than the steak. The dessert is also very delicious. The atmosphere was very old school and classy. It’s expensive, but it’s great to impress for a date night.

I was so excited to try this NY classic. The steak for two was great—definitely the best steak I’ve had, but at the end of the day it was still just steak. The amount of butter was perhaps egregious and ended up masking a lot of the flavor. Fries were solid, but not worth $18. Service was very rushed –our waiter was bagging up our food before we had time to think about dessert. Obviously they make money from volume. Overall I think you go to this place to experience an institution rather than the best meal of your life. I don’t regret going here, but I don’t think I’ll return.

I came here with my boyfriend for lunch on a weekday. The place was pretty empty so we were able to walk in without a reservation. The interior decor feels very traditional and old world American. It’s fairly quiet inside and the waitstaff are dressed in suits.

We had to wait about at least 20+ minutes if not more to get our table for a 8:45 reservation. We were seated with no menus. After a while someone at the table had to flag down a server to ask for menus. It took our server about 10-15 minutes to come to our table. There’s not a lot of options when it comes to sides like other steakhouses. Two porterhouses were ordere , both medium well. But one of the porterhouse steak came out medium rear. It had to be sent back to cook longer. Tasting was just ok…nothing great. Drinks was alright. I would say that the place was packed and maybe we just went on an off night.
