Honest review, there are much better Italian eateries within walking distance. The food is very bland. My cheese ravioli had minimal flavor at least, but my wife’s baked ziti was completely lacking of substance. The wait staff was only one person, and she was very good but overwhelmed.

The food and service were both excellent! In my experience restaurants can be very hit-or-miss when it comes to alfredo sauce, and Petrini’s was definitely a hit. The Caesar salad and white wine were also delicious. My server was super friendly and didn’t rush me at all, even though I got there only about an hour before they closed. Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful spot! The food was delicious! They have a large menu with lots of gluten free options. Almost all of the pasta dishes can sub GF penne.

I am very disappointed about this place. I live near this neighborhood, and I see this place every day…then I finally get to try it. It was bad.

Lasagna with meat sauce is the way to go, try it out. You will not be disappointed, I walked into this restaurant many years ago.I keep coming back for more. My family had Shrimp Scampi, Pepperoni Pizza and Hamburger Panini with chips.

We’re from out of town; we came here for dinner on our first night in San Diego. So glad we did. Short walk from our hotel at the Westin. No problem getting a reservation at all. Got seated within a few minutes of arrival. Service was very good. Table space was comfortable for 5 of us. Wine was yummy. Food was very tasty. So glad we came here. Experience was very nice and warming. Great place to dine. Would totally come back. I recommend stopping by this place, but get a reservation!

I placed my order online for delivery by a service. Chicken parm with penne, meatballs, sausage, seasonal vegetables, and Italian wedding soup. I’m not from the area and usually dine out at higher-end or ethnic cuisines when I visit San Diego as the latter are not really found back home in rural Mississippi. Experience had me expecting a half-step above luke-warm cardboard with sour canned tomatoes. I was delighted when I opened the veggies to find broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini steamed and seasoned to perfection – not unrecognizable goop swimming in liquid margarine (albeit none are seasonal on the summer). The pasta was just the right al dente and salt level. Tasty sweet Italian sausage that had me picking a little fennel seed out from between my teeth – covered in a well seasoned meat sauce. The meatballs taste to be both beef and veal, are the right texture (not the density of lead nor mush), and served up in the same meat sauce. The chicken parmesan was pounded and breaded, tastes as if it were cooked up in a pan instead of the deep fryer (butter flavor was a bit much for me but the dish wasn’t spoiled by it), and a very healthy portion. Just very pleasantly surprised – made my evening in very nice after several very long days of work and travel. Don’t expect Lupa of NY or La Matriciana of Rome, fussy primi and secondi courses, but great belly pleasing food at very reasonable prices (for San Diego). Bravo! As for photos, well, I didn’t think to take any until I was stuffed, nodding off, and thinking that Petrini’s earned a solid shout-out from this happy customer. Leftovers anyone???

Awesome service. The appetizer sampler was delish. The Italian wedding soup tasted fresh with quality ingredients. We got the pasta with meat sauce and chose papardelle. It was a bit too acidic for me, but my date loved it. The tiramisu was outstanding!! Highly recommend you get it!

Amazing restaurant in little Italy, went here with my dad and the atmosphere was great, a little expensive, but fine for two people. Not a place for little kids. Def order the entree plate, I don’t even like raw tomatoes, but I was in heaven eating that.

Great food oven was down but they still made delicious pasta. Not even sure what I ordered as appetizer (tomato with cheese and some oil) it was pretty good. Atmosphere and location is great
