Absolute must try for anyone who has never been. Smaller, quiet place with EXCELLENT steaks. Sides are very good as well, must try the slab bacon. Price is comparable to other steakhouses in the higher end category but the service and atmosphere for a quaint quiet night out with very good food can’t be beat.

Food was good. The stuffed clams were excellent my wedge salad was very delicious and the filet mignon was also very good. My husband enjoyed his excellent shrimp cocktail and a lobster tail. Some other reviewers said they had a good wine list. There is no wine list there are just several choices of house wine, cabernet was okay. Service was excellent our waitress was fantastic and attentive and very nice. Atmosphere.. the place is a very old, like, historically old. Watress will tell you about it if you ask. It’s no frills as other people have said.

Truthful Review
Another couple and us heard this was a good steak house and we love steak. To be honest, we became concerned when we entered seeing an empty bar, no place to hang a jacket, and more empty tables than full. However, I have to admit, the food was really good. All four of us left saying this was really a good meal.

Just there yesterday. Meal was sub par. Food was bland. Steak was good but could have been seasoned a little bit more. Fries were soggy. This place is not child friendly. Staff has the personality of an egg.

PG has been around for years. Got the opportunity to go again last week. What a great meal. The shrimp cocktail and baked clams were fantastic. The bacon may have been the best I’ve ever had. Followed up with the porterhouse which was perfectly cooked. The hash brown potatoes were fantastic and so was the cream spinach. Excellent wine and beer selection. So close to home so I will be there again!

Been here a few times…Last time I was here the steak was a bit burnt (although medium rare and was pretty good in general) and the guy server was excellent and attentive. Sides (caesar and bacon salad were good) prices are quite reasonable. Food I would give 4 stars.

Without a doubt, the best steak house l have ever been to. I lived in Dix Hills and had my business in Ronkonkoma. Every Friday night,my brother(VP) and I had dinner there. We always ordered the steak for two and was always consistent. My initials happen to be PG. Lugers was 5 minutes down Northern Blvd. and didn’t compare.

Very dissatisfied. Went for Valentine’s Day dinner. Steaks were subpar, unseasoned and didn’t compare to other steakhouses. Cream of spinach was bland, flavorless. French fries were the best part of the whole meal but when I asked them to wrap my food they did not give me the fries to go, I had a whole serving for 2 that they either threw away or gave to the next person. I was recommended here because I heard the owner was a big part of Peter Luger but I was disappointed. Not to mention the slow service. We waited a long time for our food which wouldn’t have bothered me if it was worth it. The waiter also refused to make eye contact while walking by so it was impossible to flag him down. I’m extremely upset with how this went we might just go to McDonalds to make this night a little better
