I was expecting more with all these reviews. The buns were not toasted and my cheese was wrong. Ordered American and got provolone. However they do stuff the steak sandwiches and they are large and tasty. Missed the crunch of a traditional toasted philly sub.

I was disappointed in my sandwich for 2 reasons. 1) never serve a long roll sandwich on a broken cut roll. 2) don’t beat the steak to death use your 2 spachalas and separate the meat in strips. Follow these rules and you’ll have a real contender steak sandwich.

Well worth the visit. The staff was friendly and asked often if we needed anything. The food came quickly and was piping hot.The cheesteak was wonderful, it was quite large and the portion of fries/sides were large as well. We were so full that we skipped dinner! Amazing place and the stores around look inviting. Lots of foot traffic at Philly Steaks.

I’ve tried the best Philly Cheesesteaks in Philly Dalessandros and Jim’s (RIP Jim’s) and was surprised to say that THIS is the best one I’ve to date. The cheese wiz is what did it for me. It tasted just like Velveeta cheddar. I’ll be coming back here for another soon. MUST TRY!!!!

Hubby and I always prefer to support local businesses when on our weekend road trips so after reading all the great reviews we decided to have lunch here. Philly Steaks is located in the heart of Stroudsburg, right on Main Street, so parking can be a pain but it’s well worth your time to circle the block as long as you need to in order to score an open meter. These subs are pretty big so hubby and I decided to order the special (sub, fries and drink for $11) and share. We got the original cheesesteak with mozzarella, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a cup of marinara on the side. One bite of this packed to the gills sub brought back fond memories of my childhood when my dad would take us to his favorite sub shop that has long since closed (they had a “special” sub with the exact same toppings). There was so much meat on the sub that I had to use a fork to scoop up all the steak left behind on my plate after I finished the sub. The meat was so flavorful that I didn’t even need salt or pepper and the toppings were chopped up into the meat so I got some of that yummy goodness in every single bite. The fries that came with the special was a huge portion as well, and they were right out of the fryer – hot and crispy, none of those limp fries you get from under the heat lamp at your local fast food joint. Hubby and I were both stuffed by the time we finished and needed to head back to our hotel for a nap. Well played Philly Steaks, we will be back.
