3rd generation family owned restaurant and the atmosphere feels like your best friends basement watching the game and grandpa made ribs just for you and your pals. Brought in a family reunion of 15 people (adults and kids) and had the greatest service we could ask for. Portions are huge, all the meat is tender and juicy, and Peter (whom I believe is Phil’s grandson) personally came out and made sure we all liked what we ordered and brought out goodies free of charge. The BBQ sauce is definitely different but good nonetheless. I wish they had more options, though, than original and spicy. We’re from out of town but we’ll definitely mark this as a place to come back to.

Everything was great. Good service and friendly management. Looks like this place has been around forever but that adds to the atmosphere. Wife loves the baked beans and i like the wings. Beef brisket is also one of my top picks. Burgers I here are great too. I don’t see how you can go wrong.

This was my first time trying Phil’s, although I’ve been in the area for more than 5 years. Now I know why they’ve been here over 50! I ordered the rib dinner with beans and the spaghetti to go. The service was friendly and on time on this Tuesday evening and the price was right. The food was fantastic. I received potato salad instead of beans though, but it was good potato salad and so I’d only knock about a half star off for that. It will be much closer to 5 days than 5 years before my next visit, that’s for sure. Loved it.

Meh… There aren’t enough non-chain BBQ Joints in the world, so I really wanted to like this place. Nope. While the folks were friendly, the food left much to be desired. I had the Pork Steak & it was super thin, 1/4′ to 3/8″ thin, & very dry/tough. Just not good. Sauce was ok, nothing special. I had green beans & slaw as sides. The slaw was fine, but the green beans were just a bland mush.The place was clean & pleasant though.

The waitress was wonderful. Could not have asked for any better service anywhere. Also, Phil seemed to want to do a great job and made sure we were happy. The sause is not good. It’s hot and too thin. For that reason we wont go back. The price is the best in town. Black eyed peas were put on the table with chips. Didn’t care for them at all.

Service was awful, there was a pile of trash on the floor next to our table that was left and not cleaned up! The ribs were dried out and the sides were less then desirable. Kitchen staff/ cook was speaking loudly with vulgar language as there were kids right there eating! Will never go back and or suggest this place to anyone. I have lived in this area for a long time and was looking forward to finally trying it out! Never again!!!!

This place embodies the words “BBQ Joint” Its been there forever. Had a great meal and great convo with the owner. If you are looking for a great sit down experience then obviously you don’t know the term “Joint” is. The atmosphere is exactly that and for that reason along with the good food, I will continue to come back. LARGE PORTIONS!

Sides are great, but Ribs are awful. I got the Green Beans, and Potato Salad with the ribs. Green beans came with potatoes in them like grandma used to make fantastic. Potato salad was almost like a mashed potato, but great flavor. The ribs were terrible though. Dry if there was a rub it had been disintegrated long before it hit the plate. We also had the buffalo shrimp. The Buffalo sauce over powered any taste of shrimp so you probably should have just drank the Buffalo sauce.
