Update 7-27-2023 I feel comfortable saying it, best combination chicken pho in at least the bay area, chicken and organs are tender and juicy( most places actually get this wrong and over cook their proteins, despite the chicken being immersed in broth) the portions are generous, the noodles are cooked to soft goodness, the broth is savory and tasty without being over salty, hitting all the right notes. Great Quality and Fresh ingredients. I could seriously eat this stuff everyday for breakfast Their other options are really good too, you can tell Pho San Jose really takes pride in their cuisine. I knocked off one star because of pesky flies hovering around, I work in the area and I know where exactly where they are coming from, take care of the fly issues and you have a 5 star rating by me.

Been going here since they opened because I work right around the corner so I accumulate a lot of photos from all my visits. I’m not one to review much but once I seen the cowboy pho recommended on YouTube by “simply dumpling”, I decided to write a review as an I told you so to my friends who prefer other pho spots in San Jose. Don’t get me wrong there are a few good pho places but to fit my taste buds, Pho San Jose is the only one that does this. First off the pho is rich and flavorful. I always drink a spoonful of a pho before adding anything to it. That’s how I grade my pho first. The bowl was piping hot each time I come here. My go to meal is the pho San Jose with a side of bone marrow and a beef rib. I haven’t seen anywhere else around here that serves bone marrow with pho. I have seen beef ribs but never riblets or smoked brisket. I’ve notice as I’ve grown I use less and less condiments and just enjoy the pho as it is so there’s NO masking anything here to compensate for a bland broth. The decor is unique with the grass wall, trees, neon sign, and giant mascot painting. It doesn’t look like your traditional pho place. It has a modern twist to it and isn’t cramped like other pho restaurants. Everything feels spaced out and organized. The service was fast and you get seated down fairly quick but expect a little wait on weekends but not crazy long as other locations. Come try it out! Also they have beers! Cheers to them

They never made one of my orders despite the server telling me it would take time and confirming. Forty minutes later and my fried chicken leg quarter with rice was never entered into the system.

Saw this because of an Instagram post. I thought I had to go and try. Went during the lunch rush (approx 12:30) and had to wait for like 30 mins. Definitely on us. We sat down and they our table was the only table that didn’t have utensils and condiments. Requested it twice and it eventually came.

Enjoy the pho noodles itself. Compared with other pho restaurants, you could have the choice of fresh pho noodles at this restaurant. It really tasted different than the one cooked from dry. Suggested to try it if you haven’t.

Definitely a unique experience of walking into a store, seeing every single table having dirty dishes

Went in for lunch on a weekend. No wait, got a table right away but had to wait 20 minutes before I was able to flag down someone to take the order. Ordered Pho Cowboy – interesting spin on Pho as I never had Pho with smoked tri-tip before and I would order again when I’m in the mood for meat. Also got Pho Variety which I like and the portion was generous. Their broth is very hearty & flavorful. I usually love bone marrow so order a side of bone marrow but it was quite greasy by itself this way. Shrimp donut was a meh. Not bad but would not order again. Cookies were unmemorable. For the price (2 pc/ $5) I expected higher quality & flavor. Overall, I’ll keep it in my Pho list for when I want Pho omit extras.

Been here twice. Probably the best bowls of pho in south bay I’ve had. I’ve had both the Pho San Jose and Pho Ga. Let’s compare the beef pho to Pho 54, Pho Kim Long, Pho Y #1, and Pho Ha Noi and highlight why I think this is the best bowl of pho:

The bone-in beef rib on the orange color highlighted “premium” add-on menu we ordered today, needs another hour in the pot because according to my daughter’s experience, the meat should just fall-off the bone, which not my case today.
