Tu Ech restaurant has been operating for about 10 years in Phan Thiết, Vietnam. After a few years settling down in Northern Virginia. We’ve decided to open our Vietnamese restaurant right here in the Falls Church area. Our mission is to bring the authenticity from our hometown to serve our customers in Northern Virginia.

A friend told me about this place and it was on my list to check out. It is nice not having to go into Eden for a decent meal and not having to fight for parking on the weekend. The ambiance is almost bubble tea shop meet pho restaurant. Service was ok, you did have to call them over whenever you needed something. We got the crispy egg rolls, the pho with 4 toppings, and the Bun Bo Hue. The egg rolls doesn’t seem too authentic as I didn’t see any wood ear fungus in the filling. The pho was decent, the broth was a bit salty and interesting they only have 1 size. The portion was okay but definitely towards small or medium. The Bun Bo Hue was definitely my favorite thing I ate. It was flavorful, you can taste the shrimp paste and lemon grass. The meat was tasty and tasted fresh.

The food overall was good. The pho had real pho flavors and was steaming hot when brought out but it was inconsistent. One day the food was fabulous and the next, the food isn’t as fresh and hot. Went in a total of 3 times and I don’t think I’ll continue trying my luck.

The quality was great and the price is affordable. They have staff shortage due to the pandemic so be patient, if you are in rush so I recommend taking the Pho dish for the best. All the servers are friendly and well trained.

Best Pho I’ve had in the N VA area. Very authentic. I’ve been disappointed by 5 other places in the area. The mediocre rating is probably because the ambiance doesn’t impress, but I rate the food assuming all else is acceptable. I’ve been to better places in the states(e.g. South Cali), but this place beats the other places around here. Pho had flavor, they had chilli oil(standard, but some places here don’t have it!). I’ll come back to this place.

I can’t say enough good things about Pho Tu Ech!! They are always 5☆! Today they went waaay beyond that! I’ve had a digestive flare-up this past week and have been on water and flat gingerale… today, I was actually feeling hungry and all I really wanted was their pho broth and noodles! Not a problem! Their broth is my medicine! If you haven’t tried them yet… what are you waiting for!!!
