We had such a great experience at the Phoenix House! Our food was absolutely delicious & our waitress was very attentive. The drunken phoenix wings were so good. I had the maple steak tips and my bf had the fish and chips. We were so happy with the portions. Felt like elevated home cooking! We got the maple upside cake and it was perfect. Highly recommend!

Very nice restaurant. The food was delicious at this time. Service was excellent. The bathroom was very clean. We Did not have to wait to be Seated. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be back. We loved the food. Went back a few weeks later. Ordered hamburger and onion rings my husband ordered burger with fries. This time the food was terrible. The fries were cold and tasted like they sat there for a while. The burger was cold and hard as a rock. No taste . The onion rings were terrible . If I ate this the first time I would have given them a terrible review. The waitress was excellent.

What an outstanding restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Stumbled on this gem while out enjoying the spring sunshine and can’t wait to come back. Specials on the menu are truly special, with choices that rival any restaurant in a big city. Had the brie and brioche appetizer (plenty to share) and wanted to lick the plate. Service was at a gentle pace that encouraged you to sit back and enjoy. We were there around 1pm and the place stayed busy with phone calls for reservations that night (highly recommended). This is worth the time it takes to get there.

We were seated at 7:38. My 3 kids ages 3-11 and husband walked out at 8:55 when we still hadn’t recieved anything we ordered. The nachos delivered at 8:48 were not the nachos we ordered. We tried to pay for the drinks and wrong nachos but we were told if we didnt WAIT for our food the cops would be called…which until youve touched the food you arnt in the wrong

oh my gosh!!! The Phoenix House 1835 is an expierence, the building is a beautiful and rustic enviroment, laid back while also so cozy and homelike. Their staff treats you so kind, very polite and professional too. While also relatable and cool. outside as you’re walking into the front entrance there’s laughter and music coming from the kitchen, filling this space with a welcoming vibe too. It seems like everyone there really loves Phoenix House. of course why wouldn’t they, the food was amazing, every bite was rich with flavor, from local places, making the Flavors stand out, and really seperate them from other places in vermont. Everything was excellent. Absolutely 5 stars.

What a quaint little spot for a meal with friends. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful (they even had glasses for my friend who couldn’t read the menu!). The food was home cooking, the portions were good and the atmosphere was delightful. Honestly couldn’t recommend a better place if you are in the area, they really make you feel welcome and at home, regardless of how far away you are from!

The “Winter pot roast” on the menu was so excellent, my friends took pizzas and they really enjoyed as well. Service was really good, although there were not too many people in the restaurant, we have waited a long time before we get our plate, it was still worth it on a Wednesday night.

Had a couple great meals while we were spending the week on Lake Carmi. Relaxed environment in a storied old Vermont common house. Menu has many of your classic pub finds (cheese steaks, burgers, shrimp Po-boys etc) but well crafted from scratch, (Poutine was authentic as it gets.) and Thursday and Friday they kick it up a notch with some nice offering like chicken parmigiana with house-made pasta, or rib eye with a green tomato slaw.
