So this is a hard one. I went here 2x in 1 week. 2 completely different experiences. My 1st trip a late packed Saturday night. On walking in, it was very smokey from the kitchen. Service was perfect, the food was amazing. Drinks hit the spot. But then I came 4 days later. I grabbed a table outside. I had a tough time getting service. My waiter was busy on his cell or smoking. The food seemed off. I assume the weekend staff is on point. I’ll sneak in again for a final review.

This little restaurant makes any Italian feel like the are back in the quaint pockets of Italy. The atmosphere is rich with romance and has an air of faint conversation all around. The garlic aroma and hints of sweet basil made my mouth water from the second I sat down. The staff was pleasant and the service was very accommodating. The food was super creative. Truffle pears in the arugula and ricotta stuffed gnocchi with asparagus. I was very impressed by such an authentic and creamy menu. The food was exceptional. This restaurant might be on the rough side of Forest Park, but it absolutely made me feel like I was eating at a tiny villa in Italy once I walked inside. I definitely recommend this Italian restaurant over most of those that I’ve visited in Chicago as of late! You definitely don’t want to miss dining at this well kept secret. Quanto magnifico! Mi Piace a Tutto! Suoni d’oro! A presto!!! un baci!

It was fine overall. We went on Mother’s Day and it was chaotic and there were far too many employees for this small, cramped restaurant. The main room is really smokey from the open kitchen and noisy (no acoustic dampening) so it’s difficult to have a conversation at your table or with wait staff. The prime rib I had was cooked well and delicious. Others at my table had mixed reviews. The pear salad and stuffed zucchini blossoms were stand outs. I will give it another try on a less busy day.

Went out for a girl’s night a few weeks ago and can only rave about our experience. To start, they brought a complimentary bread and creamy dip to the table which was just divine. Then we all ordered around of cocktails, which were delicious and refreshing. When it came time for entrees, we each ordered something different to get a sampling of the menu: the ragu pasta, the seafood risotto, and the truffle gnocchi.
