I normally do the House Special Chicken (obviously can’t go wrong with it, sooo tasty) but decided to try the Kung Pao Steak Entree for a change and it was awful. Not sure what kind of meat they use but it’s tasteless chewy rubber with a touch of cleaning solution and crunched on something like a tiny pebble.

Probably a 3.5 to be fair. We ordered online, and our food was ready as expected. The sweet and sour chicken was good, as was the fried rice and chow mein noodles. Disappointed in the beef and broccoli. The meat was tough. Egg rolls were also good. Portion sizes were okay. Cost nearly $30 for a takeout dinner for two. Big TV with college hoops on, and a nice but small outdoor seating area. We’d go back, but we’d pass on the beef and broccoli.

I have never ate at Pick Up Stix, I heard about it but I was willing to try it. That’s if I found one near me in the South Bay. I came in after a trip to Tijuana Airport, I had the drunken noodles, they were soo good! The cashier/employee there was very helpful in explaining the menu and the different varieties of food they have there. The facility itself was located in a real good shopping center in Carlsbad, the inside of the establishment was clean including the restrooms. Mind you, they’re off the freeway and even then they are clean and don’t smell of urine. Mega plus, hands down. I would recommend the food and a trip to pick up Stix for a quick bite.

2 yrs ago at the LAX airport we stumbled on Pick Up Stix and the food was OUTSTANDING! This time visiting Carlsbad from GA, we found there was 1 in town and was SUPER EXCITED. Unfortunately, the 2 experiences were sadly very different. We ordered the same as in LAX yet received 90% Carrots versus chicken; After removing ALL the carrots, the box was pretty much EMPTY! We were highly disappointed

We got food here today. And with a military discount. The gentleman behind the counter was so helpful and informative. He was so nice to us and packed our order within 10 min or less. He was really knowledgeable and friendly. I forgot to grab his name but this guy deserves recognition. We love this location and will come back again and again. The food is great and delicious.
