Traveling through and stopped by for late lunch on Friday June 30. Sadly we were told they were out of all the plate lunch’s so wife ordered the cheeseburger and I ordered the double cheeseburger. The chef smiled and said you must be hungry. When she brought out the burgers I seen what she meant, the double was huge. Both burgers were fresh cooked, seasoned well with fresh lettuce onions and tomatoes, crispy bacon, sooo good. I’m sure I don’t have to tell locals but to all others this is a must stop when traveling by.

It was an old country store. Fairly good burger. The ladies sort of ignored us at first. Then, the lady in charge came and took our order. When I was ready to pay her, hilariously, she goes, “You pay over THERE!” (as if I was not very smart). And she pointed to an empty counter. It was an experience, for sure. I’m about as country as they come, but this place was like something out of a novel. Lol. If you’re hungry and want a quality burger that’s filling, you won’t be disappointed. Just be prepared to be entertained by the local attitudes. Heh.

We came by Tuesday, too late for lunch..food was all gone! Went by again today, early!! Offerings for todays plate lunch was smoked chicken, hamburger steak or Spaghetti. Choose 3 sides..all for $10.95. Oh my goodness! The sides were excellent and the smoked chicken was very good. We ordered the greens, squash and Italian green beans. All were deliciously seasoned. We’ll be back!

I love the history behind this place and the atmosphere. The food is seasoned to perfection and the portions are just the perfect size. The price was comfortable on my pocket book as well. $24 for two people for food that isn’t fast food fried boredom is rare. Give this place a try. Easy access on your way to or from the gulf if you live in Arkansas. It’s well worth a visit!
