I ordered the super reuben with corned beef and pastrami. The pastrami overpowered the corned beef to where I couldn’t taste it at all. The bread was good, but toasted super crunchy. Had to ask for the Russian dressing because waitress forgot it. Overall, not the best Reuben I’ve ever had, but pretty decent. Wife had the chicken noodle soup which was very flavorful with a decent amount of chicken and veggies. I’ve had the kreplach soup in the past and it was always good. The homemade potato chips were awesome! Service was kinda slow considering they weren’t too busy.

If you have a difficult time choosing what you want to eat, do not go here their menu is huge with lots of different choices. I was only able to try what I ordered and what my wife ordered and both were delicious. Restaurant is a little pricey, but what isn’t these days. Staff is super friendly, and restrooms are clean. We will be back next time we are in the area.

I grew up in Santa Monica where we had some good Delicatessens. Pickles is pretty darn good. Sports a 15 page menu , large portions are the regular size and half portions are available on many different things. It’s fresh and a good and dependable. Depending on what you order ,healthy is easy to get but the desserts are above average. Big tables throughout a large dining room that’s clean and well lit. I asked one of the older waitresses if they still had a knockwurst sandwich. She smiled and said they used to but no one orders that anymore, not like the old days. Still many of the old classics are only available here and they actually get I might want a different mustard besides ol Yellow. Extra? No problem. None on it? No problem. Speak up for yourself, sweetie. Tell the nice lady what you want . Got that old school feel but modern service and everyone I’ve taken here wants to come back and try the rye next time. Get the full bowl of Matzo ball soup ,it’s an event.

I don’t complain much about food but I’ve come plenty of times. Every time they mess up my order. They said a chili cheese burger to go would not be a problem. Well I got a cheese burger. I just hope we didn’t pay extra. As you can see. No chili. Completely dry. I’m sorry guys. But I’ve come ample times and you just keep not giving me what I asked for. Time before I asked for a medium well burger was served a rare patty. They did fix the order but it was after we were getting ready to leave. I just haven’t found anything amazing. I had to doctor up soup I’ve ordered here, everything is just ok. It makes me sad, I really wanted to like this place.
