Since 1971, people have enjoyed coming to Pierce’s Pitt for delicious, hickory-smoked, Tennessee-style Bar-B-Que made with Doc Pierce’s Original Bar-B-Que Sauce.

It all started when Julius C. (Doc) Pierce set out from Flat Creek, Tennessee for Virginia with his family and their prized bar-b-que sauce recipe. Once there, he settled in Williamsburg and opened Pierce’s Pitt. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now, wherever there’s good times, good laughs and good eatin’, Pierce’s is often part of it. Whether it’s in our restaurant, at a party or event we’ve catered, or when someone has bar-b-qued at home using Doc Pierce’s Original Bar-B-Que Sauce. It’s more than great food … it’s a great tradition

I see why this place is on the BBQ hit list for our area. It’s almost like you step back in time in the self seating place to eat. It’s almost like fast food the way its set up. It was awesome getting great tasting BBQ so fast! I Wish I had a picture of the food but my toddlers were being Knuckleheads!! If your in the tidewater area or visiting Williamsburg/ Great Wolf Lodge I definitely recommend!! You get to take home your cup!

We stopped at Pitt BBQ on the way to Outer Bank for early lunch. We ordered a full rack of ribs, hush puppies and collards. The side dishes were very good. The ribs were meaty and had good flavor but a little bit on drier side. I would give 5 stars if the ribs were juicier. Will stop by again when we are in the area.

Absolutely amazing!! This is our family’s go to place when in the area. Recommend the Doc’s family special. Even though it says it feeds 4 to 6, it feeds more. We can get two meals as a family of four adults and two children. Be sure you get the baked beans. They mix in their pulled pork. It’s so delicious.

We decided to stop by Pierce’s last Friday after spending the afternoon at Water Country USA. It was just as good as advertised! Wanting to get a taste of everything, we opted for the combo dinner. The ribs tasted fantastic, as did the pulled chicken and pork. Plenty of parking and a friendly “down home” kind of atmosphere. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit!

This restaurant has delicious barbecue! I had the special sandwich which was very tasty, along with coleslaw and cornbread. The tables are simple but the vibe and staff were amazing! You can sit inside or outside with many tables in the shade to chose from. Very easy to find, they also have lots of parking spots, service was quick, bathrooms were clean and finally, the price was spot on. Kudos to this restaurant!
