We were heading to another restaurant; however, we were attracted by the aroma from Pig in a Pickle, so we changed our minds. Their BBQ ribs were so good. My boyfriend and I had a great time there.

One of the best BBQ I have ever tasted in the Bay Area. Full of attractive smoky smells! I think they use WAGYU beef (or something obviously better than other BBQ stores) which is amazing!

We were about 10 people, 9 of us meat eaters. (3 people aged 77 to 82.) I asked the meat eaters to rate how good the food was. They said 5 out of 10; meat was dry and sauce was too watery. It didn’t compare to barbecue in the south.

We were looking forward to a outdoor patio lunch at PIP. Sadly, we overheard a woman (be it owner, manager or staff) with zero customer service skills loudly chastising a group of four other customers who were trying to lock their bikes before eating (not our group). The restaurant wasn’t busy. The group of cyclists were polite and willingly accomodated her request to find a different spot but sounded puzzled and put off by how she addressed them (which was with disdain and a needless angry tone.) Following that, the same woman came over and scolded a member of our group pf three, who (heaven forbid) added to her meal with another item not from PiP. The way the owner/manager/staff handled such an “egregious” breach was to tower over the guest and loudly berate her. With a mere sliver of people skills the owner/manager/staff could have made her point without alienating everyone within earshot. This is the kind of management that drives away customers. I sat in silence watching it all unfold. Communication folks! They just lost seven customers. Oh, btw the food items were lousy with one exception I just read a similar bad experience described in another review — not a coincidence. Her attitude poisoned what might have been a lovely lunch.

Google, please let us leave half star reviews. This restaurant was a 3.5 to me. Service was great and staff was super friendly. Meat was well cooked and flavorful. Main reason to not give it a higher rating is the flavor of the sauces. They were too sweet and even their “spicy” sauces were mild.

Went in for dinner today and the service and food were both incredible! We came in unannounced with a huge group of 13 people, including three kids, and the staff was so accommodating, attentive, and helpful.

Leave the QR code table “service” back in 2020 where it belonged. Staff seemed annoyed when we asked for water. Wanted drinks before considering the menu but didn’t want to deal with multiple transactions. Food not good enough to make us ever want to come back to such an impersonal experience.

Rude, abusive owners who shouted at me cursed me out in front of my toddler for bringing in fries for her to eat. It was a truly humiliating experience for my family and me and traumatic for my child. These people don’t deserve anyone’s business.

NEVER GO. This was the worst customer service I have ever seen. This band of lazy so called “workers“ were standing still talking whilst my family and other tables were waiting over an hour for our meals. My autistic son who can’t eat meat brought over a neighboring restaurants item and during the middle of our meal the staff rudely begins to make a childish yelling show in front of their entire patio full of customers, totally disrupting our family meal and frankly, ruining our night. Not only did they deeply embarrass my son but they hurt my heart to see someone go to the extent to bring out a large man to physically carry him out. These kind of people are truly just a disgrace. You would be much better ordering a 3 piece chicken basket next door at starbird with their fine selection of sauces inducing a euphoric experience from maximum flavor explosion within the mouth.
