Loved the largo open space with a huge bar with plenty of seating. Service was prompt quickly attended to by the bar tender and the food runners quickly brought out our food while it was fresh. I had a delicious black salt margarita, deviled eggs for the appetizer and the Nashville chicken tacos for the entree. Deviled eggs you will get 6 of them and they had a nice mild spice but I do wish there was a little pickled relish or more pickled peppers. The tacos come with three of them and they are packed full. The food is delicious and unique! I visited with a group recently and sat at a huge table set for us and snacked on yummy apps. Wings, brussel sprouts, and the pretzel were so good! The cheese curds were tator tots stuffed with cheese. My 1st time trying and would highly recommend! I decided to order through Uber Eats tonight at my hotel, and everything arrived in a decent amount of time, plus it was hot, fresh, and made correctly. I also tried the pear salad without cheese, and it was yummy. The greens and fruit are fresh. Portion size is perfect, and I have leftovers for tomorrow.

Stopped in before a show, we grabbed a table outside! This place had been written up in the past for they’re burgers so I went with the ‘burger of the day’ which was the mushroom and swiss and it was fabulous! I also had their margarita, the black salt around the rim threw me off for a minute but it was delicious!

It was busy, with a number of events happening in and around the area, on a warm evening. In spite of that the host got us to a quieter table, inside the TI building, without delay. They have an awesome local beer selection via QRC. Because of the crowd we had to wait a while to place our meal order. The came out hot and looked amazing. It tasted great too!

While getting caught up in Brian Ingram’s Hope restaurants, I overlooked this Saint Paul gem. I stopped here two times and plan to return often. The Pan Roasted Chicken was funky and oddly delicious. It introduced me yo new food spices. The Korean Chicken Wings are fantastic. Unless I am at Peppers and Fries, I am not big on burgers. However, their burgers look amazing and that will be my next visit.Saint Paul deserves a restaurant like Pillbox Tavern, and I hope they’re met with long term success. **UPDATE:** Since this review, I had to update. Twice I visited the Pillbox Tavern and had to leave as no server came to my table. The bar is large, the staff is young. They like to huddle and talk in tue corners. Be sure to get their attention upon arrival if you visit. What a disappointment.

Great service, in a location with a cool vibe. Decent happy hour deals. Ordered the totchos, Korean chicken tacos and the steak. Steak and totchos we’re good, as was the chicken in the tacos, I personally didn’t like one of the ingredients in the tacos, not the restaurants fault. I would definitely recommend going back again!

The cheese curds were the best. Prices were reasonable. My chicken sandwich was a bit overdone for my liking, but the rest of the sandwich was delicious. Make sure you get the code for the bathroom. They maintain the public bathroom, so you need a code to use it. I’m glad it’s kept clean and safe.
