Very fresh ingredients and a menu with lots of selection! The service was friendly and inviting! My toddler loved the play area with the giant connect four and bean bag toss. Happy Hour menu is a great deal as well!

If I could give Pina more stars I would. We ate here for lunch yesterday and everything was amazing! The guac and salsa were so tasty I almost filled up on them… but I’m glad I didn’t! I had the fish ceviche to start, they had fresh yellowtail and the balance of acidity and a touch of heat made every bite fantastic. The real star for me was the Shrimp street tacos though. They’re done in a way I’ve never seen before – freshly made tortillas filled with cheese and pablanos, then battered (I assume) in some magic mixture that when flash fried results in a crispy crunchy bite while not being heavy or tasting like traditional fried fare. Topped with excellent grilled shrimp and some fresh pico (I think) was such a great take on the humble street taco. Normally I’d say eat a taco with your hands, but using a fork and knife really helps ensure you get a little bit of goodness in every bite. My only regret in eating at pina was that I can’t do it every day and really explore the menu. I did manage to snag bites from fellow diners plates (al pastor and quesadilla) and they were every bit as good as my meal. The layout of the place is also great, so many dining and seating options. I could easily see myself spending an entire day here eating, drinking and taking in the atmosphere. it’s going to be my first stop whenever I get to the area in the future. Cheers

This place is criminally underrated, should be packed every weekend! I don’t even like tequila but would recommend a shot of their spicy infused tequila they make in house. Drinks are delicious, the Dj’s are always excellent and the food is great too. 10/10 recommend!

Decent service but should have recognized that an empty restaurant on a Friday at 5pm should be a red flag. Food was mediocre at best, stale chips, bland guacamole and probably the worst queso I’ve ever had. The tacos were tasty but overall I won’t be spending my money here again.

A unique south of the border surfer laid back vibe for a Mexican restaurant. Awesome good food & drink. $$$

A bigger bang for your buck would have been Alberto’s. Terrible service and terrible food. We had to ask to order our food after 45 minutes waiting for the server to bring us our first round of drinks. And once our food came out half of us got hot food and half got cold. Last but not least the $15 margaritas were full of disappointment. These wanna be “fine-establishment restaurants “ need to stop with the high prices if they can’t get the basics down .

So it was my birthday, my 50th… this place was recommended on TikTok. It was on my bucket list and decided this night was a good night to try it. We went during Happy Hour and I got the house margarita. The salsa was tasty.

Pina is just off the beach in Encinitas and while drinks are across the board, very good, the food is hit or miss. When the chefs are on, the food is very good, If you order the same dish a week later the dish can be adequate.

No complaints. Great food, great staff, great environment. The bartender went above and beyond to explain the different tequilas to us. Fun time for sure.
