I’ve been dropping by here since 2019. When I worked in Knoxville I was even known to stop about every other week on my way home. It’s fast, reasonable and good. I’ve not had anything I didn’t like and there have been a couple different cooks and it’s changed hands once but it has stayed consistently good. They stick with what works.

Very friendly service but I wasn’t impressed with the food. I thought both proteins lacked smoke flavor and the sides were generic. Super friendly people working, I’d try again but earlier in the day.

While on a long drive I found this place on a lucky spin of Google (restaurants near me) & decided to give it a try. That was the absolute best decision I’ve made all year! The food is AMAZING! It’s what real, true, how-your-grandmother-made-it, Southern-style home cooking is supposed to be! I could smell it smoking when I pulled into the parking lot. I honestly cannot say enough good about this place! It’s a taste of home that wipes all the chain joints off the map. The people in this city must not know what a gem of a restaurant they have or there would have been no place to park! I often review when something is above the top- in this case, it is off the chain- a home run outa the park- & the best damn BBQ I think I’ve EVER had the pleasure of eating. Do not be put off by the small older facade of the building-it’s clean & welcoming & what’s inside is a blast of delicious old-home cooking that u won’t ever b able to forget. Wow! A+++++++++

Pulled pork and baby back ribs were great! Pulled pork- perfectly burnt ends mixed in, Smokey wild flavor, excellent East TN BBQ in my opinion. Priced well too!

I have never had a bad experience getting food from here. Best BBQ in knoxville. Hands down. I am always willing to find a new bbq place to dethrone it, but so far it hasn’t been done. If you order both of his bbq sauces on your sandwich it makes it even better. The other day I got my typical pulled pork sandwich with both sauces and hush puppies, and my mother went with me this time and ordered the Philly cheesesteak. I ended up getting half of her sandwich and let me tell you, that sandwich was fantastic as well. 5 star across the board. Everytime. My ONLY complaint about pit stop is the days it’s closed lol.

Great ribs, great okra. Super helpful and friendly service. It’s a tiny place, more of a take out place, although I did see some tables outside. Not meant to be a place with fancy “atmosphere”. It is meant to be a place with a welcoming atmosphere, great food, pleasant conversation with friendly people. Our first time there. We will be there.
