The manager of this restaurant kicked my niece out today for trying to bring her own meal of safe food into the restaurant. She has severe food allergies and literally can not have anything on the menu! She went in with her 4 friends who were all paying customers and just wanted to enjoy a nice meal with them. The manager came over, would not listen to her try to explain her side at all, just kept saying the policy this, and the policy that. This manager made her feel inferior to everyone else because she could not order something on the menu, she left in tears because she was so embarrassed. All 4 of her friends left as well and were extremely appalled by the experience. Where is the human decency….. what is this world coming to. This restaurant and manager disgust me. How could you make someone feel bad about something they can not control you should all be ashamed of yourselves. It may be time to update the old policy, if it even does exist, if no outside food if it involves the safety of someone there. If she had been able to enjoy something off the menu she would have but unfortunately she cannot and should not be made to feel bad about that.

Today (4/6) I was able to speak with the owner of this restaurant. Yesterday I stopped in to speak with him regarding the incident that took place on 3/31 with my daughter not being allowed to bring in her own food. He was not available so I left my number. When he called me today he was very kind and apologetic. He explained that this has never happened before. I found out that there is not a written policy stating that outside food can’t be brought in. My hope is that the female manager, who was so incredibly rude, has learned a lesson on how to treat other people, especially those with a disability. Sometimes it is necessary to make changes. Everyone is different, and there are many people with dietary restrictions. The owner did give me a gift card so that my daughter can go back with her friends, AND she can stay there and eat her safe meal with them. I’m thankful that he was understanding and willing to speak with me.

Excellent slice. The cost was what you’d expect. Very clean restaurant. I’m considering going here for dinner. The atmosphere was great, I’m sure they have a lot more to offer than walk-in slice of pizza.

My niece and 4 friends tried to eat at this restaurant on 3/31/23. My niece has severe food allergies and brought her allergy safe meal to the restaurant. She was looking for a night out with her friends when the manager told her she is not allowed to eat her allergy safe meal in the restaurant. My niece explained her situation, how she cannot eat the food the restaurant serves, and that her 4 friends would be ordering off the menu. The manager refused to bend on the “policy” and did not allow her to eat her allergy safe meal. Her and her group of friends left the restaurant. My niece left the restaurant very upset and feeling less than. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, especially if you a food allergy.

Thank goodness for Pizzeria Bacio! We’ve been in Poughkeepsie for 6+ weeks and I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve ordered from them and dined in with them. Every meal has been excellent and I’m especially fond of the Chicken Francese, which can be ordered with rice and spinach and is just delicious. Consistently good meals and fair prices = a great combination!

The specialty items at Pizzeria Bacio are in its name, ‘pizza.’ The pizza is where we have experienced consistent quality for the past twelve years. The “Verdura” (fresh mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach, broccoli, mozzarella and mild sauce) is the pizza of choice. Although the menu price has regularly increased over the years, the quality of ingredients and portion size has remained consistent—the increased menu price reflects the increased cost of ingredients. Since we live within walking distance, it’s an easy pick-up, but be prepared for the stair climb up to the restaurant.

My pizza had a crisp crust, cooked toppings, and a layer of uncooked raw dough in the middle. I pointed this out to one of the servers, who told me that is normal, and it’s supposed to be like that!
