A pizza place in the darkest corner of Market street, this place while small, has ample room for southern hospitality in the Italian-American cuisine. While the Arcade machine is broken, and the seats are of hard wood, and you wish they’d might have good beer. You can’t ever go wrong with a good slice of pizza with down to earth people who put their heart and soul into what they do.

Visiting Charleston and the kids wanted pizza. This place is walking distance from our hotel and we had to try after passing by and seeing they sell a 28 INCH Pie. I normally would have gotten some toppings but the kids just wanted cheese. The pizza is legit and the guys working are super polite. Eat here!

We needed to grab something quick before the carriage ride and this was nearby. The guy who made the Pizza was such a sweetheart and I had a fun conversation with him. We got by the slice and it was just the right amount. The Pizza was fresh and delicious. The guy who made it did an awesome job! We will be back next time we are in town (traveling from Georgia) . Thank you for a delicious dinner!

I absolutely loved this place! Highly recommend for a quick bite to eat while enjoying the Market right new door. The slices of pizza were huge! The quality was great, thin crust and good quality ingredients. The best thing was the price! Our group go a slice each and drinks. We got there right before it got busy and so we got a table but the next few groups were not as lucky. The staff was all so friendly and hard working, if you stop by please tip the hardworking staff.

I’m not sure what was off about our pizza tonight compared to what others have been served but it was terrible. my husband did say that he enjoyed the crust but all of the toppings seemed old especially the black olives they smelled awful. Mine was inedible due to the olives. It was also super mushy and not crispy. The reviews are really good and they’re were a lot of people eating and ordering food so maybe we just had a fluke visit but I can’t say that I’d ever voluntarily try it again ☹️

Worst pizza I ever ate.. been going to Giovanni’s for years…. Hit or miss.. crust always sane – very bland, but still put out decent tasting pizza using high quality mozzarella, sauce is ok.. but today was major off. The cheese was not even melted into pizza. Thought I’d must have been rebake… the gentleman making pizza today was someone I never seen before.. he was kind and professional and explained process… so yes it was a rebake because I asked for extra cheese. Always get extra cheese — nothing new. This was by far worst tasting pizza… it was dry, tasteless and nothing but cheese. Worst $33 ever spent. Won’t be back…. The order was placed early afternoon after typical lunchtime… maybe that’s why… a pizza sitting around so easy to throw cheese abd rebake so when I looked at it, I could tell it wasn’t going to be good..and it wasn’t hot. I should have left it, but since we have been patrons on and off for years, I paid after explanation of why he baked it in that way.mistake. The pizza place has always been inconsistent, and it truly is hit or miss. One shouldn’t expect good pizza in Charleston, SC, but there are a few other places in this town better than Giovanni’s..
