This is a great place for relaxed, casual dining. The food was excellent and prepared with fresh ingredients. My lunch was comparable to what I have eaten at my favorite crêperie in France. I will go back to this place.

We had a party of 9 for a birthday. The staff was great. Very accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious, all 9 of us enjoyed our meals. The fish special was Branzino and the two of us that got it said it was superb. The chef de-boned it tableside. The meat special was filet and that was great as well, both people that got it had it cooked to their liking. The crepes were great, too. Parking is a little tough in this area, get there early so you can find street parking.

What lovely food! The dessert was so good I didn’t get a photo of it. The gentleman that served us was incredibly sweet. Some of the best French onion soup I’ve had. Thank you!

A friend wanted to introduce me to a French cuisine, crepes especially. We both had the vegetable crepes( La mediterrane). The food was excellent. I love crepes now and will definitely be eating more French foods. We ate outside on a Beautiful night, although it was on a crowded night,(Ambler’s Art & Music Festival). The atmosphere was great and service was good. My friend and I were happy!

I don’t have much experience with French food so I wanted to expand my palette. Found this on a search for French cuisine and saw the good reviews so I had to try it. This place was really fantastic . If you have seniors in your group, just keep in mind you may have to drop them off out front before finding a place to park. Parking in the area has meters and it gets packed quick. Bring plenty of quarters, 1 quarter only equals like 15min.

I really wanted to like this place as I love France and everything French however this place misses the mark. We went on a weekday evening and were the only ones in the restaurant for the first half of our meal. The restaurant smelled like a public bathroom and we should have chosen another place solely on that. The music was very loud and the same song was on repeat the entire time we were there (about an hour total). Our appetizers were so-so. The meat an cheese board was pretty overpriced for the amount of food you get. The bistro fries were drowned in oil. It took a long time to get our food considering we were the only ones there. My husband’s main dish was alright however the crepe I received was tasteless and mushy. The tables were very small as well as the chairs which is very French but none the less still uncomfortable. I don’t think we’ll come back here ever. There’s so much competition in Ambler, this place needs to step it up.

The food here was amazing! The veal chops were superb! The dessert I had, a strawberry Nutella crêpe, was perfect. The crème brûlée my friend had was tasty as well. It’s a bit expensive, but for food that good, it was worth it!

On our first visit there was a rubber band in my soup. We decided to give them another chance and this time our appetizer had a piece of plastic in it. The restaurant manager tried to pass it off as a part of the calamari. Thoroughly disappointed in the experience.

I attended Planchette last week and I ordered the Coq Au Vin (roasted Chicken in a wine reduction) which Was delicious, but do be careful, as there are many tiny bones to choke on, and with sides that were boring at best…white rice with Zero seasoning and blanched string beans that were tough and “stringy”! A better choice may have been Asparagus… but I know the owner to be somewhat cheap, so string beans will probably be his only choice, ever! I ordered as an appetizer, the Escargot in a garlic and butter sauce (normal) but at first I was given the wrong fork used for clams or mussels and when I called over, the less than boring and Zero personality “waiter” and asked for a proper fork, I also informed him that 3 of the 6 I was served had snails that were missing in action…non existent! It turns out the owner came over and When I told him, he boasted to me that they were Fresh snails that came In-The-Shell as opposed to those that are sold loose or shell-less and that are stuffed into the shell afterwards, and that during the cooking process they shrink and retreat back into their shell, making it more of a chore to dig them out… with even the correct fork. He took them to the kitchen (as if to retrieve the tiny snails) and came back with 3 tiny shriveled snails on a dish and said…Violá! As if that solved the issue… of having to hold the greasy shell with my fingers and search for non-existent snail meat! I’ve eaten at some of the best French Restaurants in the US and have never been served Escargot without tongs to hold the shell with, while plucking the meat out with a fork, so you can imagine how much a fool one would feel sitting there turning an empty shell this way and that, searching for his appetizers and having to hold the greasy shell with my fingers!! I even made the suggestion that he purchase the snails separate from the shells and to cook them first and then stuff them into an empty shell for easier extraction…to which he said that his were Fresh…not canned! Canned would have been preferred compared to the mess these were! I also suggested he try to serve loose escargot in a burgundy wine reduction, which is a very tasty way to enjoy them without the digging…to which he scoffed and insisted on staying his course as being the only way these will be served! With that in mind, I witnessed him at tableside assisting another 3 diners, that same evening, digging out their escargot for them…twice…for 2 of the 3 seated there. Not exactly the experience one looks for when out to enjoy a fine meal…to have the owner, help to retrieve your food for you…its akin to having your Mother slice your meat as a child would have her do! Embarrassing for both you as an Adult diner, And for the Owner acting as the Mother! (a male owner)So…By All Means…avoid the Escargot!!! There wasn’t a dessert menu and rather than being offered dessert, I had to ask if there Was dessert available! I was told verbally of the 4 choices and wasn’t quite sure what was being described but I do remember the chocolate souffle being mentioned so I ordered that…it was adequate at best.
