Came here for our anniversary and it was delightful! Ordered the rigatoni and the pasta with vodka sauce. For dessert we had the pineapple upside down cake. The staff was so kind and gave us a free glass of champagne for our anniversary. Will definitely celebrate here again!

I really enjoyed this restaurant! We went in for a late lunch so it was very quiet but became busier before we left. The waiter was very thorough and familiar with the menu. I ordered what he recommended which was the pappardelle pasta. It was so amazingly good that I secretly wished I would have ordered the dinner portion. If I am in the area again, I’d definitely like to go back. I would like to try the highly recommended garlic bread. It looked really good. I would also like to try dessert.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Cocktails handcrafted and delicious. Arancini, fresh house made pasta, steak, fresh fish, and hot homemade doughnuts for dessert. Every detail of every dish was passionately prepared as if we were the only guests. Don’t get me wrong, perfection comes with a price, but it’s justified for this level of service and quality. Don’t waste your special occasion on an expensive plaza chain restaurant. This is one of Kansas City’s finest restaurants.

Rarely leave reviews but felt tonight warranted one. Having been here before, we were extremely disappointed with Plate. Restaurant was completely overwhelmed and understaffed (Mother’s Day and graduation weekend but I would think management would plan for that). Two of our three dishes were lukewarm when they arrived at our table and the pork was raw near the bone (see photo). It’s was my wife’s birthday and we were looking forward to them making her feel special and it was far from that. Would have spoke with manager but it was hard to find any staff in the place that night so we didn’t even bother (We tried to order a birthday dessert but gave up after our waiter vanished for 15 minutes). Better places to celebrate occasions in KC.

I love the local vibe and I’ve never been disappointed with the food. My only complaint from last weekend was that the server brought the mains before we finished salads. A bit more attention to detail is needed. We felt rushed on this occasion, which is not what I would expect from my past experiences.

My husband and I went for restaurant week and had an absolutely incredible experience! Not only was Molly an absolutely incredible server (attentive, funny, and so kind!) But our food and drinks hit every single note. We even said that this was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time and Plate is absolutely one of our favorite spots in all of KC. Had dinner at Plate the first Saturday of KC Restaurant Week. Beautiful interior. We’re greeted by a very nice lady and seated immediately. Our waiter Sean was wonderful. He had perfect timing and we lacked for nothing. Sean’s wine suggestion was spot on. Excellent glass. We ordered off of the regular menu and it was phenomenal. Fresh pasta. Perfectly cooked. Can’t wait to return, we saw quite a few things we want to try and quite a few we want to eat again. Thanks for the great dining experience.
