This was our first time here. We traveled from Dunwoody, and it wasn’t busy as we went right when they opened on Saturday. The food looked amazing on the website & we like to support black owned businesses. I had a question about the chicken & waffles. It wasn’t explained it would be drumettes & it was only four. I just knew it came with tenders per the menu.. I prefer whole wings & I would have paid more. I definitely would not have ordered the chicken & waffles & would have tried a different selection. My son had the shrimp & grits. He said they were good, but became soupy. We are foodies & eat out of the time. Customer service go a very long way. It was no wow factor. If the food is just okay, but service is awesome I always return. Since it wasn’t busy, I would have assured the service part would be excellent. I would recommend the servers ask if this is your first time there to make sure the customer have a great first impression. The soda machine were out of order, but that didn’t matter to us. The music wasn’t too loud & they played a variety. That was a nice touch!!! I must say it was clean!

(Birthday Trip) So I decided to stop here for breakfast before heading back home. (Charleston,SC) being everyone in the neighborhood recommended for us to try them. The restaurant was absolutely nice, very clean and my waitress was amazing. We ordered the crab cake & shrimp n grits. Both was so good I’ve never had grits tasted so good by itself..lol I’m from Charleston, SC and I definitely can say we have nothing on Platez Shrimp & Grits nor the cornbread. DEFINITELY the best dishes I’ve ever tasted. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Definitely taking another trip back to them soon!!

Upon walking in my friend and I stood at the sign that read please wait to be seated for several minutes before the host greeted us. Granted she was busy but guests should be acknowledged and at least told “be right with you” or something. The service was slow considering that not many people were there. I got a veggie plate that was pretty expensive-nearly $30. Everything was good but the yams-not seasoned well at all. The cornbread was ok. A bit too sweet

I decided to try this place after seeing it on social media. I called and spoke with Ty she was very friendly and patient with me and gave good explanations and recommendations as it was my first time placing an order and take out at that. I ended up ordering the kids chicken tenders and Mac and cheese and for myself I decided to go with the fried chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and yams. Also decided to add on a waffle when I got there.

I really enjoyed brunch here yesterday! We got here a little after they opened and was seated immediately. The complimentary cornbread is absolutely AMAZING! I had Catfish & Grits, and I loved it. The fish was seasoned well and fried perfectly. I can’t remember our server’s name, but she was great. I will definitely return.

Went here for my birthday, and I loved the vibe. We brought our kids and the restaurant is kid-friendly but the music was kind of loud for our baby. The food was OK! I got a salmon croquettes and they were like chicken fried.

The waitress/bartender was amazing, the food was okay the fried ribs had no seasoning, the mac and cheese tasted “old” or should I say it tasted like it was sitting there the whole day even though we got there an hour after they opened. The cornbread was the highlight of the meal sadly. The long island tasted nothing like one but the P-Valley was amazing!!! Just improve in the kitchen and this would be a 5 star restaurant. I really wish restaurants would stop with the automatic gratuity it cheats good workers and rewards the bad ones.

Nice vibe, decent food (don’t expect your grandmas southern cooking, but beautiful presentation), fast service. DJ was a bit loud, hard to hear our conversations over the music. I thought the game at the table was a nice touch for while you wait.
