The food was okay. Nothing special! As much as you pay for drinks a food the food should be wonderful! I had a miscommunication with a staff member because I couldn’t understand what he was saying and he seemed like he had an attitude because I told him that was not what I want it. Once I see the receipt and clarified with him what I wanted, his attitude got kind of nasty.

We loved the pool and the restaurants wow, great food at la playa tonight at the steakhouse for Mother’s Day dinner. Blake and her team have been super sweet, from kevin pool side service and Andrew at playa Resturant with his lovely smiles and on point service ….Just a side note when you come visit you MUST have the chicken Nachos!! Best cheese nachos we have every had, all the food is 5 star, great Chef hidden in the kitchen Great staycation with the family celebrating me! Mommy bear!

This place is on the ocean with a gorgeous view. That’s pretty much the end of the nice things I’m going to say. The food is overpriced- it’s a resort. Sure. But the quality and taste is abysmally sad for what you pay. Three of the most tiny, dry, and bland fish tacos for $25 while looking out at the beautiful beach seemed almost comical. We also had tostones that begged for more chimichurri, a salad with a vinaigrette that was fine, and a wrap which was unremarkable. Service is a bit slow but friendly. The hostess literally took my husband’s phone to write her own review and give herself 5 stars, stating they’re compensated based upon their positive reviews. Although we remember the name, we won’t state who. Writing this review not for the hostess, but rather, to urge the establishment to stop incentivizing in this way. I LOVE this resort and will be back. However, the service needs major improvement. I’ve been at the beach now for 3 hours and the waited only dropped a menu off, only after we asked for it. He never came back!? Like we’re thirsty and hungry!!

The service at Playa is really fantastic! Marcella at the bar made sure that my drinks were right, the Hotest Latoya always made us fell welcome and Ronald made it a point to come check-up on us before, during, and after we received our meal. Very pleasant service personnel, lovely and peaceful atmosphere right here next to great beach here at The Diplomat Hotel, in Hollywood, FL.
