Typical dive restaurant in St Charles, on a lark I gave it a try. Did the half sandwich combination and cup of gumbo as a first-time vistor to gage the kitchen staff. Was surprisingly impressed seafood gumbo was good, despite the thin look and had great flavor. For a half sandwich seemed to duplicate itself between the kitchen and service counter, and was awesome. Recommended for a good ole Nola staple meal. Sweet tea was good and lemon for my beverage. Counter service was a little slow at checkout, and the bad orange hair dye did nothing but play on her phone, causing the holdup. This was the only pitfall for a surprisingly great lunch. I will return, even with the dated atmosphere and all.

This place lived up to its name. It was quite pleasing. I arrived early and was able to sit anywhere. I didn’t feel pressured to hurriedly order or leave. I was able to watch Good Morning America and feel at ease while I waited for my order.

This place is not going to win the James Beard award folks but it has the nicest people running it. The atmosphere has a real home town feel and if you are money conscious, this is the place to go. It good, filling, and non expensive. I ate there a lot when I lived close.

My partner and I went to eat here and we both ended up vomiting all night. The place smelled terrible, server didn’t get the order right, and overall not a good experience. Only good part was the cook was very nice and did make sure our order was correct after the server messed up.

OMG! I love this spot. One of my MUST go places when I visit the city. Melissa my server is the sweetest soul. Derrick the chef is a magician in the kitchen. The food is delicious. Wide variety menu for any time of the day. The owners are kind. Everyone checks on you to make sure you are well taken care of. I especially like that it’s cozy & intimate so it’s not overcrowded or overpriced.
