The food was not good. The poke bowl was decent, but we were disappointed with the sushi. The Poipu Roll was plain and just lackluster. The Jimmy Hendricks roll had good sauce but the fish was just ok and the tempura taste sort of stale. Also, our rolls came at different times and we were nearly done eating when my friend finally got her roll.

The sushi was so good! Definitely ordered the lobster bomb. It was amazing! Not to mention our server Lexi went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Def ask for Lexi’s section!!

Busy place on a Sunday night with live music and good vibe. Drink service was quick and Pinacolodas were very tasty. Poke bowls were decent but sushi rolls were a big miss. Ahi sushi was shredded and texture was not nice. Location is convenient to Poipu beach accommodation but afraid value for money here is just not there as food is very pricey. Sorry won’t be back until price comes down or sushi quality goes up.

We were a group of 11 people in Kauai to celebrate our parents’ 50th anniversary. We reserved a table at “Rock and Roll Sushi” on OpenTable at 7:15. When we arrived about 10 min late, after having called to let them know we’d be a bit late, the hostess turned to another employee and said, “oh, they showed up.” No acknowledgement of us even being there in front of her. Should have taken that as an omen.

If you know what sushi bar is, then you will find this place to be very far from it. In fact, this is a 3-in-1 place: Sushi, Thai, and Burgers. Only found out about once we’ve got there, but it was too late to go anywhere else. The “sushi” part of the menu only offered tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. The types of rolls were limited to few. The sushi rice was so sticky that all other pieces were falling apart, when you try to take one. We’ve had Poipu Roll (very sticky rice), Hawaiian Poke Salad (decent), Rockin’ Tempura Shrimp (decent). Their $16 so-called premium Poipu Mojito lacked rum and only had two leafs. When only one slice of lime is overpowering the tall Mojito, you know somethings wrong with that drink. By the way, their menu, which they display in their listing photos, have shrunk in half and prices went up.

I was very hesitant to eat here because it does not have the best reviews. This place was amazing we got 2 sushi rolls they were huge. Also tried some of their pad Thai noodles. Very good serving sizes, delicious. Great service very fast and friendly.

After spending almost a week in this very neighborhood in Poipu, I’ll be generous in saying that this is a kinda cool spot if you’re too lazy to try something else, but please do not think that a craving for authentic sushi, or reasonably passable Thai food (considering both are served here… confusingly), will be satisfied here… But just know that if you DO give it a shot, be prepared to spend WAY more money than you will be comfortable with, given the very low caliber of food and service this place delivers. All their appetizers are likely from Costco… And you could make them better yourself at home.

This was not a good experience. We arrived for a late lunch and the restaurant was mostly empty. The empty tables were all set up for guests. The hostess took us to the worst table there….pushed up against an outside wall and right next to the server’s station. We asked nicely for a different table and she was unwilling to accommodate us. I told her that if we couldn’t sit somewhere else we were going to leave. She still wouldn’t give us a different table. On our way out my husband asked her why we couldn’t sit at one of the many other empty tables. She literally tossed the menu’s on a table and walked away without saying anything. At that point we just left. Probably the rudest restaurant hostess I’ve ever come across. With that attitude she should not be working in the hospitality industry.
