1st time in, wanted to see what all the “hype” was. I ordered the sampler with 6 meats, pinto beans, green beans, Mac n cheese. After getting food from super friendly crew I decided to dig in, just as I started the owner came in and asked “how is everything” then said “I see you haven’t even started yet” lol, I told him give me a few minutes and I will give you an HONEST review. Ribs, PHENOMENAL (rank up at my all time high) chicken, turkey, pork loin were PHENOMENAL as well, don’t know how he retained so much moisture but A+. I hate to even mention any negative but brisket and pepper jack sausage was a tad dry. After giving him the review in person he asked which side I got brisket from (somehow I got lean side, marble side was PHENOMENAL as well) overall I would say this was definitely a top tier experience and very nice to meet the crew and owner. OOOOO, then the lady asked if I got the potatoes (I didn’t even notice) she brought out a sample of them and baked beans, GOOD LAWD!!! Soooooo good!

Poke In Da Eye is truly world championship bbq. We tried it last year and absolutely loved it! So we hired them to cater my daughter’s wedding on April 22nd 2023 at Outdoor I Do’s in Sand Springs, OK (outside of Tulsa). We had a buffet of brisket, pork tenderloin, chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, green beans and dinner rolls. Everything was so delicious and perfect, even after they drove over 5 hours from Tyler to Sand Springs. Everyone absolutely loved it! The owners, Joe and Laura, and their staff are the best. I forgot to take pictures of the buffet because I was a little distracted with mom of the bride duties, but here’s a picture of the bride & groom enjoying the delicious bbq. I highly recommend them for lunch, dinner or any catering event!

They have the best ribs around, great flavor and texture. The sauce makes even better. The best tasting baked beans I’ve ever tasted. No complaints about the food. The only negative thing to me is they smoke cigarettes inside where the food is ordered.

I’ve had their BBQ on several occasions and it has as of late been a big disappointment. The food has good flavor but they trim the cuts to death. I always ask them not to trim the brisket and every time I get the brisket the older woman cuts all of the fat off it. I told her twice not to trim mine and she cut the entire point and cap off and left just the flat with zero fat on it. Another issue is the portions have become extremely small with maybe 3-4 oz of meat in a serving and 2-3 oz. For the sides. The people are friendly enough and it’s a nice place aesthetically but it just feels like they are pinching every single penny to death to save money. There are far too many options in Texas to waste any more time and money here. Best of luck to them.

I ordered a rib plate. It was 4 ribs, green beans, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. The taste was spot on. I have no complaints on the taste. The service was decent. I was not aware that the plate was almost 20 dollars. I felt like there should have been more meat for that price. I see many bbq restaurants trying to fill you up on sides instead of meat. I have paid this price and higher but generally you are going to get more meat. I also did not get a drink. The plate was a bit overpriced.

I am beyond saddened over my 1st experience last night around 6:30pm… customer service was awesome, I had 2meat plate x2 (me and my husband) Togo so did not see the meat cut. Our total for 2plates and 1 drink was $43 something. I even gave a tip!!! I get home and this is what I paid $43 for LOOOOOK AT THIS MEAT PORTION FOR $20something a plate NEVER AGAIN, THIS IS HORRIBLE AND QUALITY OF MEAT WAS HORRIBLE, DRY AND BARELY THERE

Got the 3 meat plate with sliced brisket, ribs, and pepper jack sausage. My sides were corn, green beans and pinto beans. Sausage was really good, brisket and ribs were as well. Spicy bbq sauce was good too. The servers were very friendly.

Great barbecue place! I didn’t know what to expect trying it for the first time. I enjoyed the brisket and ribs very much! Priced about the same for other barbecue joints. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I am surprised this place isn’t more crowded. Definitely worth it to visit this place!
