Poke King is a group of fast-casual poke restaurants located in Northern Nevada. We wanted to bring the Hawaiian islands traditional flavor and introduce a few twists of our own. Always fresh, healthy options and royally delicious are some of the pillars to Poke King, and we trust that’s what you’ll get every time you visit us.
We knew how good poke could be when done right, so we opened up our shop in 2017 as the first poke shop in the Reno-Tahoe Area. You might be asking yourself, “What is poke?” Simply, it’s cubed raw fish — like salmon, yellowtail, ahi tuna — paired with a base sauce, a bed of rice, wonton chips, or greens, and toppings like sesame seeds to green onions all ready for a DIY poke bowl you won’t forget

Haven’t been to Poke King in a while, and today, I was craving it for lunch. Decided to get my regular bowl most times I do greens, but I did brown rice with scallops, salmon, and shrimp topped off with crab salad seaweed salad and fried garlic. I normally do sesame sauce, but I tried the house sauce today. The sauce wasn’t too bad, just a little kick for me. So good. I’ve never had a bad experience here yet, and I’m glad I came in and caved in to my craving. I love poke king!

This is the second time I’ve ordered and the first time the Rick was undercook and I’ve almost swallowed a bone from the salmon, this time I almost swallowed bone from a piece of salmon again! This is seriously dangerous. If I or someone else swallowed it my throat could’ve been sliced or stabbed. This place needs to do better and stop slacking off.

⚠️ The white rice I received went bad. Tastes stinky and sour. I ordered two regular bowls today, both bowls have the same situation. I am shocked to have bad rice and cannot stop wondering how can the sashimi be fresh even when the rice is bad? Raw fish needs to be fresh and of good quality to prevent food poisoning. I am not sure whether I am safe to have food from this restaurant.

Good selection of proteins, toppings, and sauces. Food is fresh, service is good, great for take out or dining in if you’re so inclined (although the space is small). Been here a number of times over the years, quality hasn’t changed. Come here for all my poké needs.

The food I ordered was awful to me. It was as dry as can be, and none of the “proteins” the girl behind the counter added tasted genuine. To me it all tasted like it was imitation sea food.

I don’t get to go here often, unfortunately, but when I do, the staff is ALWAYS SO SWEET to help me remember which sauce is Hot and which one is not! Lol They never act like I’m stupid for asking, like some places. That right there is wonderful to me! If nothing else, that would rate at least 4 starts! Lol But, there food is wonderful, the cafe is always very clean! And the fish is so good, you can cut it with your fork! It’s extremely soft and just melts in you mouth! You know how sometimes raw fish can get stuck in one place and it just won’t come apart… Well, their fish doesn’t do that! I don’t know if they have an agreement with the fish before hand, or what…lol… But it’s my favorite!
