It’s a small place, food was ok. I ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas & the meat was shredded but very bland the only seasoning was in the sauce, nothing on the meat inside. The refried beans were the best thing on my plate, I expected more from a $12 plate on the lunch menu. Kids had a grilled cheese, I should’ve order that instead. This is just my opinion.

Unfortunately, Polly’s has been on the downhill slide for months. My husband and I used to order fajitas to go almost every Sunday and the they were ways amazing. Recently the quality has declined. They changed something about their fountain sodas, first of all. They used to have the best fountain Dr. Pepper in town by a landslide, and now it’s flat and tastes like generic Dr. Pepper knock off. That sounds small but Dr. Pepper is the absolute best when it’s right, and it’s hard to find that perfect fountain soda. The food portions and seasoning have been inconsistent. Once we started dining in again after Covid, we stopped ordering the fajitas for two. When you order fajitas, the steak comes mixed with peppers and onions in a greasy but delicious juice. I usually will either order fajitas for one or the fajitas taco plate, depending on how hungry I am. The meat used to consistently come soaked in that juice/grease, no matter which way I ordered them. The portion of meat is never the same. Sometimes they’re overflowing, sometimes it’s tiny, scraggly pieces. Sometimes the meat is juicy and well seasoned, sometimes it’s dry, without any juice or seasoning, and smells like cat food. And if I ask for the seasoning like it has with the peppers and onions, they act like they have no clue what I’m talking about, so I just gave up on asking. My husband alternates between queso enchiladas and steak and eggs… The steak and eggs are never consistent. The meat is often seasoned differently and recently they started to ask how he wants his steak cooked (it’s a very thin steak, there’s no way to cook it any other way than well), sometimes they don’t. It’s usually perfect when they don’t ask and cold if they do ask. The service has also suffered. They have one waiter that is always good, I think his name is Rogelio. If you’re in any other section, you’re mostly ignored. We’ve had poor experience after poor experience the last few months and won’t be coming back for awhile, if at all. We’ve been going to Polly’s since the Mi Cocina days and are so disappointed with the changes over the last few months.

We ate here tonight for the first time. It was so amazing that I had to come here to leave a review right away! I had the Combination plate and my husband had the Talapia plate. We’re definitely going back soon!!

Going off just reviews I think Pollys is top in BCS and I can see why. They have been becoming my go to. I would say they use a bit less seasoning than most places but it really lets you appreciate the quality of the food, which is always great. Not to mention their prices are very fair.

2 small, ground beef burritos. $13. Literally tasted like Taco Bell soft tacos. Beans and rice were awesome, though. My wife’s tacos were standard as well as my daughter’s chicken quesadilla…really dry chicken. The order also took a really long time. This is one of those places that relies on local tradition serving substandard food.

I have a special love for Polly’s Cocina stemming from years of weekly breakfasts with my best friend while sitting in the warm and welcoming atmosphere. My only suggestion/comment about service is regarding the drive thru. There has always been a smiling face and welcoming tone with the employees at the window. The only question we’ve had for a long time is why it seems to take so long to pick up chips, salsa, and queso at the drive thru. It seems simple to someone like me who has never worked in food service. It seems like the bag would quickly be filled with chips, pour salsa in a cup, and scoop queso into a cup; however, we often wait for quite a bit for our order to be ready. I’m sure there are steps I’m just not thinking of and this is DEFINITELY NOT a complaint!! It’s one of our favorite appetizers to pick up for our huge family!!!

Food is great – They have great green spicy salsa you have to ask for it. Wait staff is great and the food is very good. Price is also good. Free chips and salsa! My go to Mexican Restaurant in the area!

Service took forever and food was mediocre. Overpriced for what they give you, too. Wouldn’t recommend going in for sit-down, but if you can get through the drive-thru then maybe it’d be worth it. The inside of the restaurant, however, is absolutely covered with pictures of people eating there. It’s a very interesting vibe.

Food is very bland… salsa was indistinguishable from tomato sauce, enchiladas were unseasoned, rice and beans were alright but nothing special. Might be a good place to bring maw-maw and paw-paw, but otherwise I would go elsewhere. Felt like a midwestern take on tex-mex.
