The menu takes farm to table seriously. The menu is thoughtfully inclusive of a variety of fresh produce and proteins from local farmers. That much isn’t lost on me. But, I found the food to be only OK, even a bit underseasoned overall. As somewhat of a homesteader, I can appreciate eating local produce, but I was left underwhelmed with the meal at the price point.

My wife and I came here to celebrate my sister in law’s birthday. Their menu changes, so I can’t suggest a specific dish. However, the service was top notch – attentive, but not overbearing. They seemed to be there right at the moment that you needed them. I loved the atmosphere – it felt like you were at a guest at a friend’s home. I definitely see myself coming back to try their different dishes.

A really wonderful and delicious spot. Pomet is definitely a contender for best restaurants in Oakland! We were seated outside, and it was a little chilly, so they offered us blankets – a really nice touch. Standout dishes were the ugly mushroom filled pasta, which is one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in recent memory, the roasted carrots, the quail, and the desserts. It was a fantastic meal, and the price point can’t be beat!

Itinerary: scallop bread with savory butter, ugly mushroom pasta, duck breast, and persimmon bread. Absolutely loved the mushroom pasta (which is a lot coming from someone who isn’t the biggest fan of mushrooms). The bread had familiar Asian flavors that complemented one another effortlessly. I will say that the duck breast did fall a little short for me: cooked medium, but the base felt extremely neutral and didn’t seem to contribute much to the flavor of the duck itself. Really enjoyed the cream cheese in between each of the bites of the persimmon bread: such a creative touch!

Wonderful. Just wonderful. My wife and I tasted about 50% of the menu tonight and the food was great. Everything was expertly prepared.

We randomly chose Pomet for my birthday dinner, and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. We had Steven as our server and I think we entertained him as much as he did us.

A bunch of promise preceded our visit to Pomet, but alas I don’t think it quite lived up to expectation.

Got an impromptu invite to this little gem that just opened here in Oakland. I was NOT disappointed. The service was fabulous, the food was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The ugly mushroom pasta is a must try even if fungi aren’t your thing. I will absolutely be back and can’t wait to try other things from the menu.
