Pizza may be 5 stars. Thin fresh crust with a fresh tomato sauce made daily and an awesome cheese like the northern pizza. The pizza is cooked in a coal oven which gives the pizza a real homemade flavor. The pizza is fabulous.

First time coming in. Service is REALLY slow.. Food was ok. Pizza seemed like it could have been cooked a few more minutes. Spaghetti was good. Soda was sweet and no carbonation to it, so it made it hard to drink. Probably wont be coming back again.

Although we initially thought the restaurant was nice, and the food was pretty good, my son went into the restroom, and came out saying there was a roach. I asked for the manager, and the waitress was very nice and apologetic. The owner came out, was rude, sweaty, and argued with me! I had already paid and tipped, and told him we did not want to finish our food, and wanted a refund for the pizza we had gotten to go. I had put one piece on my plate, had not yet eaten it. He spent several minutes arguing with me, told me I was unreasonable and this was to be expected, “it was only one roach” (sorry, but it is NEVER one roach), finally threw 3/4 of the pizza money at me, told me that was all I was going to get out of him, and left. Needless to say, we are never going back.

This is my first time going to this place and I must share how much I loved it! Their pizza was amazing and the service too. They are really sweet and attentive. The owner brought the pizza herself. The prices are reasonable too. You guys should check this place out for yourselves. It has some bad reviews. But things have changed.

The menu is very diverse – everything from pizza to Cuban sandwiches. The food was excellent, prices are very reasonable, and great service. We were impressed with the antipasto salad, which is really hard to find in Jacksonville/Orange Park. The pizza was as good as Al’s in Riverside, but Pompeii has a full bar (Al’s only serves beer and wine), so we will definitely be back. We stopped for lunch and I had to work in a few hours, so we couldn’t indulge. Portion sizes are also reasonable. I would rather pay for a single serving of really good spaghetti & meatballs than a huge serving of something forgettable. Thanks, Pompeii, for a wonderful lunch! We will be back!

Unable to rate the food as I never actually consumed any product from Pompeii pizza. Called in a delivery at 6:05pm, order took 7 minutes due to the fact that I had to repeat my name, address and order multiple times due to the fact that the radio was too loud according to James (which if this is the case turn the radio volume down, to my knowledge this is a pizza restaurant not a night club). After finally completing the order I was given a 30-40 minute delivery time in which worst case scenario would place the delivery time at 6:45pm. By 7:15 the order had not arrived nor had I received a phone call to notify me of a late delivery. At 7:15 I called and spoke with James again to receive an update in which James states the delivery driver left with 3 deliveries and he was unsure when they would arrive. When I pushed a little bit I was told it could be 15-30 minutes. At 7:38 the delivery driver shows up in which I had already made other arrangements for dinner as I do have 3 children to feed. Worst service ever. On Google reviews Pompeii receives a 19 out of 30 score which is about a 63% average, I’m not sure about you but I couldn’t pass in school with a D average and I certainly do not want to eat food from a D restaurant regardless if the average mainly consist of service complaints.

We love the pizza, we get them all the time. But the service is awful which is why every time we go in there , nobody is there. The older lady that is always there is absolutely rude, when calling all she does is cut you off and rushes off the phone, never ask for a name or anything. If the service changed it would be a great place to go and maybe sit down. But for now and how we have always done it, it will be picked up and taken home.

A nice place to sit down and relax. Unfortunately today the house salad was missing ingredients and over seasoned, the Pompeii garlic honey parm wings had none of these flavors. I recommend trying the pizza first as the other table’s meal looked very good.

I called in an order for pizza & was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later & was told my pizza was not ready. I asked how much longer it would be & was told they hadn’t even started cooking it yet, she said “she forgot about it.” The restaurant only had 1 other guest there, so it wasn’t even busy.

Best pizza in town! A++++ Highly Recommended! Clean & professional! Thank you for the AWESOME food, service and restaurant! It’s sad to read others reviews where they complement the food but down the service. Shame on them! I’ve got nothing but disgust and shame for those people. Because of their impatience and greed fast food places continue to grow in size while great places like this one suffer. These scammers who got scammed by someone are just passing it on.
