Our first experience here was very pleasant! I made a reservation and still had to wait, but only for a few minutes so it was ok. The food did not take long at all. Our server was wonderful! Great personality and accommodating! We’ll definitely be back. The only negative thing I’d have to comment on is the crumbs on the seats and food underneath the table! Hopefully during our next visits, we won’t have that problem.

We found ourselves in Forest Acres today. I have always loved FA. Whoever lives in those new homes are so lucky to have so many eateries literally right outside your door.

This was my first visit. I only gave 4 stars because of the wait time for the food. So upon arrival i was only going because i wanted to try the fried chicken. However i was informed they were out of the fried chicken. So i ordered something else. Within 15 min the waiter came back and said the truck just delivered more chicken so i ordered that and had to wait again. However the waiter was very nice. The menu is broad. While waiting their was some honey biscuits that they bring out while u wait. They were really good to the point where i ordered 2 more. I then ordered the catfish nibbles. They were really good. They sauce that came with them was not good so i asked for tarter sauce. They were so tasty and came with a lemon. I then ordered the fried chicken and mash potatoes and macaroni. Everything was really good the chicken was very crispy like home cooked fried chicken. I really enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to go back and try something else . Being that my food was so good i look forward to next time .

My veteran buddies and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Poogan’s Southern Kitchen in Forest Acres, and I have to say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and welcoming hospitality.

1st time at Poogans, so we were excited to try the southern cuisine. I started with the catfish bites as an appetizer. They were a bit over fried with more breader than fish in 60% of the bites. It’s not worth $12

Everything we ordered came out hot and quick. The service was great, with friendly waitresses that were attentive. The restaurant was overall pretty clean and orderly. The restaurant felt large but didn’t seem overly loud. We had a great first experience and would for sure be willing to go back.

First time experience at this location after many visits to the original location in Charleston. Our server (Sam) was knowledgeable and very attentive to us. My wife decided on the two piece fried chicken and I chose the glazed salmon. We started off with a small plate of fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes arrived piping hot with pimento spread and a portion of bacon jam. I didn’t try the spread, but adding just a dab of bacon jam is out of this world good. The chicken was perfectly done and tender with just a hint of peppery tang in the breading. My fish was accompanied with a bedding of sweet potato puree and a medley of corn between the potato and the generous portion of glazed meat. I’m not a fan of sweet potato anything, but it perfectly offset the savory glaze on the salmon. We enjoyed the casual, upscale vibe of this location and noted the subtle reminders of the beloved restaurant namesake artfully included here and there. We’ll definitely return to sample some other menu choices in the future,

Can not say enough great things about the staff and food! First off, I was greeted warmly, looked in the eye and made to feel welcome right off the bat! Our server was extremely helpful in ordering and was spot on with her recommendations. The crab dip with toasted bread was scrumptious! The mahi-mahi was amazing! The shrimp and grits had a unique savory flavor, and the pecan pie was incredible. The atmosphere was modern, clean, and bright. With the modern diner style flare, it felt open and classy. Great job Poogans! You did not disappoint!

Such a great experience and great food! Father’s Day was such a busy day at Poogan’s but they were handling it like true professionals and never let us see them sweat! I must brag on our waitress, Laura… What a true gem! Charming, funny, kind, and accommodating. She made our experience wonderful! Thank you so much, Laura!

I stumbled across this place and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere and staff were so welcoming and down to earth from the time I set foot through the door. The manager, hostess, waitress all checked on us multiple times to make sure we were good and we appreciated that very much. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. I would highly suggest anyone to this restaurant for a relaxing brunch or even a delicious lunch or dinner. The food was delicious. I look forward to going back!!!
