Absolutely the worst Popeyes I have ever been in today 6/29/2023, it’s 90+ degrees inside. Ordered online, got there at pickup time 610pm and waited an additional 20 minutes. No one asked me anything, barely acknowledged guest coming in, the then ask what I ordered, begin putting it together, items I ordered where not available, selected replacements, got my food and left, at home I checked my order, 3 small sides to replace a larger I had ordered, the nuggets I ordered were just old, not crisp and tasted like old oil, same with the “Cajun” fries, didn’t get my sauces, the chicken strips were tough, the strawberry biscuit just looked gross,

I waited on line for 20 minutes. The worker in drive-thru looked directed through the window and saw me. He then walked out to give another parked customer their food. He still did not get on the speaker to say that they were going to close early. Honestly, I would’ve respected that rather than having me and a few other cars wait. They then turned the lights off and as we drove by, the manager was counting down the register and refused to look over because I intentionally stopped with the intent to let them know that was unprofessional. If you don’t want to fry the chicken, find another job!

I’m unsure if the staff members here are incompetent or if they just do not care about accuracy. I ordered red beans and rice as a side and an asinine individual decided to place dirty rice with brown gravy in the container. Like why? Why would you do something that despicable??? The “big box” comes with two sides and they definitely decided to leave my order of fries off. Now, I’m not a rocket scientist but I’m certain that even adults with 6th grade education can correctly take a simple order. I am utterly disappointed but what can I expect. Pitiful. Younger people lack social skills and common sense. I attempted to get the lady’s attention that walked my bag to my car to inform her that the hot sauce and honey I requested prior to parking and waiting 15 mins wasn’t in the bag. She flat out ignored my attempts and walked right back into the building. I drove back around to the drive through to get the condiments but didn’t feel comfortable asking for corrections to my order because obviously they were uninterested tonight. Something told me to pull off when Ms. Ghetto pulled open the window. Chile, I knew better.

I love me some fried chicken especially from Popeye’s but this Popeye’s leaves me feeling disgruntled every time I come here. The food is fine but, it’s everything else. When you order through the drive-thru it takes forever and then you most likely will have to pull up and wait. When you look inside the drive-thru window you can see how filthy the floor is in the area where they prep the food. When you order inside you wait a long time and then you can hear the employees talking loudly and goofing off. There does not seem to be a good work ethic or pride in what you do at this particular restaurant. It is quicker for me to drive to the Flowood Popeye’s and get food than to go to the Popeye’s that is closest to me.

I had the Cajun surf & turf combo with mashed potatoes. Chicken was crispy and juicy. The shrimp are surprisingly good for fast food. I always enjoy the buttery biscuit. The most interesting item was the new ghost pepper jelly. I was expecting it to have some heat but it’s a sweet taste. It’s better with the biscuit than the shrimp. The staff are friendly with quick service. Overall, the lunch meal turned out pretty good.
