I love Poppy’s and this spot continues that legacy. Service is not taken for granted and the waiters know the menu backwards and forwards. It really makes the meal more enjoyable because you can tell the servers enjoy what they do.

Last evening we dined at Poppy’s Italiano in St. Augustine. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! We started off with drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. It was a small bar offering adequate staples, the bartender was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and Italian. We got to our table and ordered toasted ravioli for a starter, and house salads. The ravioli and accompanying sauce was phenomenal. The house salads were perfect down the the feta in the house dressing. They also brought out some fresh garlic bread; it was amazing and decadent! Couldn’t get enough! For our main courses we had Milanese with chicken and a side of risotto as well as the Pasta Combo which featured lasagne, cannelloni, meat ravioli, and baked ziti all under a “blanket of cheese”! It was all so good. Bring your appetite or be prepared to take some leftovers home because their portions are hearty, the food is so good you won’t want to stop eating! Also the staff is friendly, attentive, personable and warm. I will definitely be eating at Poppy’s again!

A cute Italian restaurant. Definitely get an authentic Italian feel. My Milanese was delicious and my friend loved her seafood dish. I had a Mama Mia Margarita (or something like that) and it was just okay. I wouldn’t get it again.

Food was pleasantly good. Be sure to order the bruschetta which was fresh and incredibly tasty. The chicken Milanese is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a poultry dish. Service was friendly but a tad slow at times and table maintenance (cleaning off dishes between courses) could have been more efficient. Otherwise, decent experience and will likely return.

Great Italian food and service. This is not a place to visit if you are on a diet. The garlic bread alone will set you back about two weeks :-). To be honest. It was worth it. With fresh food and pleasant service, I wouldn’t mind breaking my diet again here in the future!!!!

Went here for dinner last night with a couple of buddies visiting from out of town. I’ve ordered takeout here many times before, but this was my first time dining in. From the moment we walked in the door, the service was excellent. We arrived around 8:40 in the evening, and were promptly greeted and sat at a booth. The waiter came right over and was very friendly and attentive. We all had their take on old fashioned, which was very good, and recommended by the waiter. I had a Caesar salad with garlic bread and the Chicken Marsala for my main course. As with all my previous take out experiences, the food was great, and the portions were generous without going overboard. I highly recommend them for anyone in the area looking to have a decent Italian meal. I look forward to going back again soon.

My friend frequents this restaurant often, so she suggested we should meet there for lunch. We had the early bird special. It was delicious. I had the house salad, garlic bread and veal marsala with risotto and a glass of Chianti. I was very pleased with the flavor and the portion size and the service. They said this was a smaller portion because of the early bird special. There was plenty of food.

My wife and I were very excited to try Poppy’s Italiano and it did not disappoint. We initially waited about 10 minutes after we arrived before anyone checked on us (I think they might have been a tad understaffed) but when Johnny R., our server, arrived he was extremely polite and attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine, bruschetta, baked ravioli, and salmon piccata. First they brought out the bread and bruschetta which was massive. The garlic bread was very very garlicy, which I enjoyed but may be potentially off-putting if you aren’t a huge fan of garlic. I have never had a larger portion of bruschetta but it tasted great! The herb cheese spread was fantastic on it. The salad was good but my wife did find the house dressing a tad acidic. The baked cheese ravioli was delicious and the marinara was very flavorful. My wife had the salmon piccata and she said it was fantastic! We also finished the night with a canoli which I would highly recommend! Overall this was a great spot for a date night or a pleasant dinner with family or friends. 5/5 definitely recommend!

I’m always concerned when Mom & Pop restaurants expand in fear that they will lose a little bit of what made them special to begin with…
