Traveling through Eastern North Carolina and took a chance on this local BBQ place. The food was great and one plate stuffed two of us. If you’re looking for a fancy sit-down, this may not suit everyone. But, if you want good food with a wide selection of sides, this is your place. It will be ours the next time we travel here.

Always consistent. Consistenly great food, and service. The atmosphere? It doesn’t feel like you stepped into a restaurant. It feels like you went to grandma’s to eat. If you haven’t been to Porky’s-GO! Take your family and experience a family friendly environment. Bet you can’t eat it all….They are very generous with servings and we always have leftovers to take home. The staff is kind, polite, helpful and friendly.

Staff behind the counter were very rude and unprofessional. This was about 5:30 pm. Several bins on display were empty. When I asked were there more refills coming out and I was gold nothing else was coming out. Specifically the green been bean bin and the fried chicken. I also didn’t see any coleslaw. This was one of the worse experiences ever. I will spread the word of my experience and I will not ever go there again. No hard feelings just truth.

We just finished a delicious dinner at Porky’s and highly recommend it! We had the buffet and the fried chicken was the best that we have had in a very long time. The ribs were definitely finger licking good. Green beans were seasoned and cooked just right, sweet potato souffle was good enough to have been a dessert and the boiled potatoes were also seasoned to perfection. Not to be left off…the chocolate cake was a perfect ending to the meal.

This place is absolutely amazing!!! Nice quiet place and the food was extraordinary. Try the brisket, gotta have the ribs, must have the BBQ… just try it all. Of course, finish up with the sweet potatoes. Will be back!

We were in Virginia Beach for soccer and passed through this town halfway home. The food was soooo delicious! We were just passing through looking for food and our other option was Mc’D’s and decided to stop, and what a treat for us to find this restaurant next door! Working out of town and gave this a try. Got the combo plate with bbq and dark chicken squash and red potatoes. Bonus was hush puppies I didn’t know I was getting but wish I didn’t they were hard and dry. Potatoes were undercooked and no seasoning. Squash was probably the best thing on my plate as the chicken and bbq were dry. I come in town every 2 weeks for a night I’ll try somewhere else next time.

We came in right before closing so we didn’t wxpect the food to be super fresh. One of the ladies offered to have the cook to fry me some fresh chicken. I declined and got the barbecue chicken instead. I got mashed potatoes and gravy and squash as my sides. My husband got meatloaf, mac and cheese and yams. Everything tasted really good. It could have been a bit warmer for me, but overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff was very pleasant as well.
