I dined here with friends recently and I had the fajita steak nachos and 1 carne asada street taco. The taco was average, like I’ve definitely had better. The nachos were a bit short on the queso and the steak was a little tough. Interestingly, my friend had the carne asada plate and said his steak was very tough. I tried a piece and he was right. It’s like someone forgot to tenderize that day’s meat. On a side note, they don’t serve chips and salsa but they do serve a complimentary little bowl of some kind of bean soup, which was tasty. Overall I think I’ll be 1 and done with this spot.

My husband and i went to eat dinner there lastnight and I got the fajita nachos and my husband got the nachos portal. It was a large generous portion for both of our plates and it was delicious. Second time we e eaten here and again it was great!

This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant in town. Maybe even the state. This is authentic Mexican food and nothing is from a can. It’s made fresh. You will not find a more polite staff anywhere. This is my first time eating here and I am so happy I found this establishment. It’s very clean, the food is wonderful and staff professional and very polite. I wish the stars went to a 10!

Our first time at Portal del Gusto and it won’t be our last. It is a nice blend of Guatemalan and Mexican flavors. Our friends ordered Fajita Nachos and Tacos Asada. We split the Fajita Quesadillas. All very good. Clean restaurant, excellent, friendly service.

I enjoyed the customer service, the staff was very friendly and was very attentive. the only thing that I didn’t like; however, was the food. I ordered three tacos de lengua and they lacked flavor and the meat felt very processed. It came with a side of beans and rice and some addons on the side, the lime and radishes were dry to the touch and very thin. The rice and beans were also dry, i’m definitely in favor of moist meals especially when it’s mexican food. overall it was ok, not going to come here as often as I did the old place that used to be here.

Good food. Not unusual, but better prices than some. Companion enjoyed the ceviche, and other companion enjoyed the fajitas. They had several kinds of salsa with the meal, so we could spice our servings as desired.

After many positive reviews and remarks from friends who had eaten at this restaurant, we decided to try. Our food was delicious, the service was excellent…such a friendly and welcoming staff. The food is so delicious, and the owner is so nice and has been there every time we’ve been. We were frequently checked on, and they have a unique starter if you’re looking for something new rather than your regular chips and salsa! They also serve different salsas to try with the food rather than just one AND they have delicious aguas frescas (horchata, hibiscus, and you have to try the melon or pineapple – divine). If you haven’t tried it yet, you should!

Tried this place for the first time , walked in we were greeted by a very nice lady . Got us seated then a gentleman brought us some warm fresh made charro beans! They were delicious ! We ordered our meals and were not disappointed everything was perfect. The entire staff was very polite and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly ! 10/10 will be back!
