Overall a pleasurable experience. We arrived with a party of 13 and the staff was very accommodating on short notice when the Swiftwater Cellars was extremely rude when we had a reservation. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and an anniversary.

I had the seared tuna appetizer – tuna was good, but half of the avocado was my ripe and the rice was cold (bad for digestion). My boyfriend had the Cuban sandwich- it was flavorful but SUPER greasy. Appreciate the free bread for appetizers.

Great views with spacious seating. The Brioche French toast is crispy, delicious, and a must-try.

Mixed feelings about Portals. The food is overall good (not for the price, but there are limited options here) and our waitress was one of the best we’ve ever had. You have to make sure to make reservations the day ahead of time. We showed up at 7pm on a non-holiday Sunday and they were only taking take out orders despite 3/4+ of the restaurant being empty.

I feel like you have to eat at the restaurant and not do take out from this spot. My husband and I were staying at the lodge last week and we decided to stay on the property and go here for dinner. The restaurant had a real rustic cabin feel with great views of the mountains. We ordered some appetizers and the only thing that didn’t hit the spot was the Burrata the salad it was in was a little weird and overall the Burrata was just not that good. The other dishes we had were really good. I had the oysters followed by the duck breast and my husband had the pork. Everything was cooked just as we asked and tasted wonderful. My dish came with carrots that were not cooked at all but the puree parsnip was delicious. We ended up here for breakfast and it’s at a resort in a hotel so we knew the prices were nutty going in but it was just so nice to walk downstairs and have breakfast. My husband really enjoyed the homemade pomegranate jam and the oats and brown sugar were the perfect fill-up before a hike around the property.

Th food was really good! We had the steak and the scallops. Very happy with them. Fries were awesome too. I felt compelled to write review because I think they need to know that our cocktails were truly the worst cocktails I’ve ever had in my entire life…. I got an espresso martini and it tasted like Smirnoff vodka and 7 day old watered down drip coffee and guessed on measurements and didn’t even shake it. It was so so so horrible. Everyone else at the tables cocktails were also disgusting…… they even made a French 75 taste like garbage…maybe their bartender called in sick and someone random was thrown into the position? We were all so confused on how actually bad they were 🙁

Beautiful resort and view but it was legit the worst food I have ever tasted in my entire life (3 other people with different meals had same experience). Everything was 100% frozen and let’s hope I don’t get sick tonight from it.

I don’t really give full stars, but this place was great. Now, it’s probably a little expensive… but we ate 3 meals there and every time it was great. Excellent poached eggs and hollandaise, fry and seasoning on potatoes and French fries was perfect, interesting adult drinks, menu for kids with good tasting options. Beautiful view. Great service. It really was top notch. We went the week after Spring break and staffing seemed to be high for number of guests, so maybe that contributed. As I think of the expensive attributed, it was just as expensive as Roslyn Cafe, which was a joke compared to Portals. There it was expensive cuz of tourists. Portals was expensive because it was really good.

I’m usually not one to complain but, I just ate a $72 ribeye that had zero seasoning.. dry mashed potatoes with no gravy and three soggy peppers that had no place on that dish. Girlfriends chicken was dry, soggy asparagus. Starter was white truffle fries.. burned flavorless chesse and no truffle flavor either. Whoever is managing this place is clearly asleep at the wheel.
