At Porter’s Real Barbecue we refuse to serve anything other than REAL, fresh barbecue. This means all of our meats are cooked up to 14 hours and our sides are made fresh daily. That means that we regularly sell out of menu items, so check back here often. Life is too short…eat REAL barbecue.
Hoping to get at least ten customers a day, to start, they were humbled to see a line of more than thirty people on that first day of business. By day three, the crowds had grown so large that they were selling out of everything Porter could make (150 lbs of barbecue!) within a few hours. Now with 3 locations open this family has put a mark on the food scene in the Tri-Cities community!

Food was good and fit the craving for BBQ . My fave was the bacon wrapped jalapeño and the gouda mac & cheese. My daughter got the stuffed potato with brisket and bacon and said it was tasty. (Better bang for your buck) as this was kinda pricey for the 2 of us. 60+

Good but not great. I got a baked potato with 1/2lb brisket (I wanted extra meals) 1 pint Mac and cheese, and a small side of pickles and a drink. It cost $42 with a 15% tip. Nothing was overly great. It all sounded fabulous but somehow fell kind of flat. My friend had the brisket sandwich and baked beans and felt the same way. My other friend had the pulled pork and sausage which he felt were very good. There’s also no corn bread which is SO random. All things considered, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Meat is so tender, and juicy and just over amazing. Gouda mac and cheese was just the right amount of sharpness. Beans were a little too peppery for me, but my boyfriend loved them.

Stopped in for some good barbecue and really enjoyed the ribs.. had a side of baked beans and wasn’t very fond of them, maybe a little to much pepper in them..

Their staff is just as Amazing as their Brisket. The assistant manager and the young lady helping her are super nice. We just moved here and its our go to for BBQ. Texan approved!

Asked Shelia for our sausage not to be cut up and chose a particular piece. Then I was told I could t have that peace and was going to sell me a bigger piece. When I said that was to much she cut the piece I did t want because it was dryer to match the size of the piece I wanted and proceeded to cut it up. Jordan the employee that checked us out apologized and reminded Shelia we didn’t want it cut up. We got the piece she butchered. Disappointed in service. No mustard or sugar which we would have liked to have to have with sausage and sugar for coleslaw. Didn’t like coleslaw.

I’ve eaten here hundreds of times over the years, and I don’t think I’ll be returning. This place used to be amazing several years ago. Over time, the quality has seriously gone down hill. I started noticing this change a few years ago, and I’ve never had a meal to the same quality since. I’ve always gotten the brisket. The brisket now is overcooked to the point it turns into mush. It felt like it used to be a nice firm, yet tender piece of meat that pulled apart with ease. Now it almost has the consistency of pudding. It still tastes like meat, and it is still good, don’t get me wrong. But knowing where they’ve come from, and where they are now, it’s always an extreme let down every time I eat here. Due to this, I won’t be returning.

The loaded baked potato was really good. As well as the Mac and cheese, and baked beans. The banana pudding was my favorite. Didn’t even get a pic of it

The menu is horribly vague and unorganized. The meat is cold, bland and greasy. The pulled pork sandwich is literally pulled pork on a dry 20c bun. You add BBQ sauce at the table. No cheese, no pickle no flavor. The jalapeño poppers were cold soggy and greasy. The gouda Mac and cheese was cold, made with a powder cheese mix and did not have a good flavor. The coleslaw tasted like wet cabbage no bite, no flavor, no zest. Yuk. $60 and I could not eat it. The assistant manager was apologetic and polite but it didn’t help. We paid for Guy Fiery’s face which is plastered on the menu and the wall but it doesn’t make the food taste ANY better. Avoid this place like the plague unless you like throwing money away and lots of it.
