First, my server, Andrew, was excellent. He was friendly and professional, and his pride in the food served showed. I had decided on a lunch combo of chickn marsala and a house salad, but he told me the soup of the day was crab bisque. So I had a cup of that as well. The house made dressing was a roasted garlic vinaigrette that was subtle and flavorful. The bisque was as good as any I’ve had living on the gulf coast. The marsala was perfect. I told Andrew it was one of the top meals I had eaten in a month on the road. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the made fresh bresh was soft and a perfect complement to the meal. Highly recommended, this experience was outstanding.

Originally my boyfriend and I went to Kiks Thai restaurant first but we were never greeted or seated. So instead we decided to come to Portofino’s. Right away we were greeted and seated. A few minutes later we were brought drinks and bread. I ordered a sweet tea that ended up not being very sweet. Our server’s name was Alfred. When my boyfriend told Alfred that the tea wasn’t very good Alfred went and made a brand new pot just for me. It was fantastic! Some of the best sweet tea we have ever had. I had the manicotti and my boyfriend had the chicken parmesan. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Some of the best Italian food we have ever had. Alfred was also one of the best male servers we have ever had. All in all the experience was awesome! If you’ve never had Portofino’s go give it a try.

Portofino – The soup was an egg drop dumpling with chicken and spinach, The main course was the Chicken Bolloco with crushed red peppers, green chili & cream sauce served over linguine. This dish was Italian food meets New Mexico chili, excellent flavor a little spicy and very pleasing to the palette.

Maybe 6 or 7 years ago now was the first time I visited here and it was simply amazing, best mozzarella sticks. Then they got new owners and went completely downhill, even the coffee creamer they let get old. Now after visiting 2 times recently I’m happy to say it’s finally a good restaurant again. Kudos to whoever has it now, food is great, I recommend the tour of Italy. We usually don’t like going if it’s an hour to closing time just to be nice to staff, but we showed up late and didn’t get the usual attitude you would normally get with employees else where who get mad when customers come in somewhat close to closing.
